Sarah-Jane Mee ‘couldn’t be more in love’ after giving birth

Sarah-Jane Mee "couldn’t be more in love" after giving birth to a daughter. The Sky News presenter welcomed a baby girl into the world earlier this week, and she encouraged people to look at "moments like this" if they are searching for positives amid the coronavirus pandemic.

She wrote on Instagram: "Emerging from a baby bubble to share the #goodnews

A little girl came into our world this week and stole our hearts. I couldn’t be more in love. Already @benray79 daddy’s girl and a super cute sidekick for big brother Teddy. If you are looking for the good in 2020 it’s moments like this (sic)"

And Sarah-Jane shared a snap of her little one wearing a "breaking news" outfit, after the youngster was gifted the bodysuit by the star’s work colleagues, Evie Cronchey, Selina Swift, and Tatiana Alderson.

She added: "Special thanks to my @skynews girls @eviecronchey @selinaswiftt @tatianaalderson for baby’s 1st insta outfit – just perfect #minimee (sic)"

The circumstances of the birth are not known, but Sarah-Jane admitted in April she was planning to have a home birth due to the coronavirus crisis.

The 41-year-old presenter – who is engaged to cinematographer Ben Richardson – said: "I don’t want to be walking into hospital on my own to have this baby, so I am considering a home birth.

"I think my plan A now is a home birth. I have had an uncomplicated pregnancy and I am very healthy, so there’s no reason for me not to have it."

The TV presenter hadn’t previously considered giving birth at home, but knowing her partner would be by her side made her feel "more relaxed".

She added: "I had never considered it before but, because of everything that’s going on, it makes me feel more relaxed to think about having the baby at home, rather than Ben not being able to come into the ward until the very final moment."
