Sarah Harding’s favourite thing about being in Girls Aloud was touring and performing.
The 34-year-old singer was a member of the girl group for just over 10 years following their formation on TV talent show ‘Popstars: The Rivals’.
The fivesome – Sarah, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – called it a day in March 2013 after performing the last concert on their ‘Ten: The Hits Tour’ and Sarah admits she misses the "magic" they created on stage.
She told BANG Showbiz: "For me, I loved touring, I loved performing live, for me it was the best part of being with the people in Girls Aloud. That’s when the magic happened really, when we were on stage together. It was hard work, don’t get me wrong, we had to do a lot of promos, videos, it’s a long slog promoting a single but when you get to do the touring part, that’s when it all comes to life. It almost becomes animated and I love it, I just love to get a crowd going."
Since the band broke-up, Sarah has revisited her acting career and also released a solo EP, entitled ‘Threads’, in August 2015.
Having a pop career is still her main focus and she has been stockpiling songs for a full album.
She said: "I have so much material that I’ve been accumulating over the past few years, so much I want to say. It’s great to finally have an outlet for my experiences, both good and bad. I want to show different sides to my personality."
