Samia Longchambon nearly killed Barbara Knox in Corrie scene

Samia Longchambon nearly "ripped off" Barbara Knox’s head when a ‘Coronation Street’ scene went wrong.
The 35-year-old actress – who portrays hairdresser Maria Connor in the ITV soap – was nearly in big trouble on the show when she accidentally pulled a hairdryer with Barbara (Rita Tanner) sat underneath, coming close to doing serious damage to the soap stalwart.
She said: "I once nearly ripped off Barbara Knox’s head.
"We’ve got those old hairdryers with the visor that comes down, and Barbara Knox was in the chair, as Rita was in the scene, under the visor.
"I just pulled it back without lifting it up, and Barbara’s head went with it.
"I was so sorry."
Samia also once nearly chopped off a part of Kate Ford’s (Tracy Barlow) fringe for real when she was only pretending to snip away at her tresses, and admitted she was left "shaking" afterwards.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "It’s so hard to remember your lines and what you are doing and pretend that you look good at what you are doing.
"Another time I nearly cut off Kate Ford’s fringe, in a scene with Maria and Tracy.
"I had the actual hairdressing scissors, and they were up there, and I don’t know what stopped me, I was just doing it.
"I was shaking afterwards, and said to Kate, ‘I think I nearly just gave you a tuft instead of a fringe.’ I really should have done a hairdressing course about 18 years ago."
Samia recently opened up about suffering from panic attacks, admitting she feels like she is going to die when she has one.
She said: "You feel like you are going to die, you can’t breathe.
"You feel like you are going to faint or die. I wouldn’t wish them on anyone, they are horrible.
"Anxiety is like a fear. I read somewhere that depression means you are looking at the past too much, whereas anxiety is worrying about the future too much.
"That makes sense to me because I do worry about everything."
