Samia Ghadie "cried" the night before she returned to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 33-year-old actress – who has daughter Freya, six, from a previous marriage and son Yves, nine months, with fiancé Sylvain Longchambon – recently reprised her role as Maria Connor in the soap but had reservations about leaving her baby, though she is trying to be positive.
She said: "I was crying the night before [I went back]. I was thinking, how am I going to do this?
"But the main thing is that we know Yves is safe. No matter what happens, I’m coming home to him every night.
"Sometimes I have to do long days, but some weeks I’m at home for a few days because of our filming schedule…
"With my job you can be really busy but then you can have periods where you’re quiet. It’s just swings and roundabouts really.
"I don’t feel like I’ve missed any of those milestones with Freya, so hopefully it will be the same with Yves."
Samia does her best to stay in touch with the youngster even when she is working.
She said: "I FaceTime Sylvain and Yves from my dressing room at lunchtime."
But it isn’t only making calls that the actress does when she has a break from filming, as she also finds the time to work out – but sometimes gets an embarrassing interruption.
She told OK! magazine: "I didn’t do anything on holiday but we did do tons of walking. I did a bit of swimming too.
"Then I was straight back in work for 12-hour days.
"I’ve been doing my butt lift challenge in my dressing room, which is interesting when the costume department walk in on you. We can lock our rooms but they have a master pass – sometimes they just walk in without knocking and you’re there in your vest and knickers with your bum in the air."
