Samantha Spiro will make an appearance in this series of ‘Doctor Who’.
The Olivier Award-winning actress has announced she will have a role alongside the current Time Lord Peter Capaldi in the current instalment of the sci-fi series, but she’s remaining tight-lipped on the the details surrounding her part.
Speaking on ‘BBC Breakfast’ on Tuesday (05.04.2017) Samantha said: "I’ll be in this series of ‘Doctor Who’. I can’t say how, I can’t say who, I can’t say where."
Unlike other guests including David Suchet and Ralph Little, the 48-year-old’s appearance was only just revealed and not included in showrunner Steven Moffat’s episode guide.
David is set to make his debut in ‘Doctor Who’ this week as The Landlord, who shows Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and her friends the perfect house share.
And he has admitted he jumped at the chance when the role was put in front of him.
He said: "When my agent rang up and said they’d like you to be in ‘Doctor Who’ I said ‘yes’. She said ‘do you want to read the script first?’ I said, ‘no, I just want to be in one."
Series 10 of the sci-fi drama, which will be the last time Peter takes on the role as the time-travelling scientist, has confirmed a number of important characters who are returning including Michelle Gomez as Missy and John Simm as the Master.
Samantha has most recently appeared in the hit HBO programme ‘Game of Thrones’ and worked with ‘Doctor Who’ writer Mark Gatiss in ‘Psychobitches’.
