Sam Quek leaves I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

Sam Quek has left the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ jungle.
The Olympic gold medallist has become the ninth celebrity to exit the Australian jungle, narrowly missing out in a place in Sunday night’s (04.12.16) final.
Speaking after her exit, she said: "I can’t believe it is the end. I’m so overwhelmed. I can’t believe I got this far. I’m a bit emotional … Yesterday felt like the final. All of us were so tight and I think when Martin and Wayne went, it was a massive hit. We were so shocked. And yesterday was a bit of a quieter day; it was a bit of a reminisce day."
And the 28-year-old sportswoman admits heading into the jungle was "a lot tougher" than she ever thought it would be.
She told hosts Ant and Dec: "When I lost that task to Adam, I was mortified. It took me a few days to get over that. I put more and more pressure on myself … It was a lot tougher [than I expected it to be].
"I’m so lucky to be in a position where I have so many people I can rely on – my family, team mates, my friends – and I thought I was quite self aware because we do all the training. But in the jungle, I learned lessons about myself that I would never learn anywhere else. It’s crazy but I loved every minute."
Meanwhile, during Saturday night’s (03.12.16) episode, the remaining four celebrities – Sam, Scarlett Moffatt, Adam Thomas and Joel Dommett – took on the iconic bushtucker trial, Celebrity Cyclone.
Whilst the celebrities ended up getting the full four stars, it didn’t start off well for Scarlett as she struggled to even make it onto the slippery ramp and make her way up to the first star. With just minutes to go, the whole group finally made it to their positions, only for a huge wave of water to push them all back to the beginning and they had to scale the slippery slide once more.
Sam’s departure from the ITV show leaves Scarlett, Adam and Joel to fight it out to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle when the show reaches its climax on Sunday evening (04.12.16).
