Sam Fox has signed up for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The former glamour model has finally agreed to join the next series of the reality TV show, which will hit screens this summer, after bosses have reportedly hounded her for years to take part in programme.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "Producers have wanted her to go into the house for years and they’ve finally convinced her to do it."
The 50-year-old star sadly lost her partner and manager of 16 years, Myra Stratton, in August last year after a battle with cancer and so the show will be mentally draining for Sam – who was left with a "huge hole" in her life – but she’s believed to be ready as ever to take on the challenge.
The source added: "Sam has had a really hard year but she’s a strong woman. She knows ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ is going to be tough mentally but she’s ready to tackle it head on."
Sam – who became a Page 3 girl at the tender age of 17 in 1983 – has plenty of experience of reality television having been on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ and ‘Celebrity Come Dine With Me’ over the years.
Meanwhile, several stars have been tipped to be joining the next series including former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, 34, who bosses are hoping will spill the beans on her famous friends including bandmate Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who is dating One Direction hunk Liam Payne.
A source previously said: "’Big Brother’ producers are desperate for Sarah to go into the house. They are convinced she will be TV gold and know she could provide amazing gossip on lots of showbiz types, including her former Girls Aloud bandmates. Anything she says about Cheryl and Liam Payne would make amazing viewing."
Meanwhile, Lady Colin Campbell, Union J’s Jaymi Hensley, former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Spencer Matthews and ‘Mob Wives’ Renee Graziano are also on the hit list.
