Sam Bailey’s dream is to land a role on ‘EastEnders’.
The 39-year-old singer is good friends with actor Danny Dyer, who plays Mick Carter on the popular BBC soap, and has admitted she would jump at the chance to star alongside her pal on the programme.
She said: "I would love to be one of the Carters.
"I would love to be in that show. It’s something I have always wanted to do."
The former ‘X Factor’ winner previously met the cast during the show’s 30th anniversary celebrations in 2015.
And Sam’s on-set experience has only increased her belief that she could become a star on ‘EastEnders’.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (02.05.17), she told stand-in host Rochelle Humes: "I was there for their 30th anniversary and sang for the cast and when they did the live show with Lucy Beale I was the entertainment.
"Seeing all cast past and present and I was like ‘oh my gosh, I could really do this’."
Despite being good friends with Danny, Sam insisted she would like to earn her spot on the programme, rather than relying on the London-born actor to do her a favour.
She explained: "I want to get in on my own merit so I would audition like everyone else.
"I want to do it that way. I wouldn’t want a mate to do it for me."
Sam was signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco record label following her stint on ‘The X Factor’ in 2013, but she was dropped by the music mogul just 14 months later.
The singer previously admitted she wasn’t surprised by the news.
Speaking in 2015, Sam said: "I’m not silly, I’ve been around the block a bit, I kind of knew it was coming."
