Sally Dexter wants musical Emmerdale

Emmerdale’s Sally Dexter wants to do a musical version of the show.
The 58-year-old actress – who plays Faith Dingle in the long-running soap – would like to see the bosses get a bit more experimental with their episodes after the flashback specials, which focused on the painful childhoods of Charity (Emma Atkins) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), went down so well with the cast and viewers recently.
Speaking to the Metro, she said: "Bring it on, I think the more the better. I’m gunning for a musical version, which would be amazing. I’d be very happy to star in it."
Earlier this week, viewers were left gripped to their seats as the show explored the traumatic past of Charity when she was abused by DI Bails as a teenager.
The then- homeless 14-year-old girl was often picked up by the police officer (Rocky Marshall) for soliciting but, rather than arrest her, he put her up in a nearby flat.
Charity thought the officer was kind to her until he beat her up and raped her – resulting in her falling pregnant with a little boy who she thought was dead.
The blonde barmaid has been trying to prove that DI Bails sexually assaulted since she found out that he had remarried and lived in a perfect house with his two kids.
But while digging up the past to try and find something to prove she gave birth to his son, Charity discovered that the baby didn’t die and was adopted by a midwife.
Over the moon that she can now do a DNA test on the boy to prove she was raped by DI Bails and her story was true all along, Charity is shocked to discover her son – now 27 and called Ryan – has the permanent movement disorder cerebral palsy.
Ryan agreed to submit a sample of DNA to the police for their investigation and DI Bails was ordered to provide a sample of his own DNA to compare it against.
However, Bails refused and was subsequently arrested and forced to do the test.
