Rylan Clark-Neal has been treating his husband to ‘Ready Steady Cook’ recipes.
The 31-year-old television presenter – who tied the knot with Dan Neal in 2015 – will bring the beloved cooking show back on TV screens next Monday (02.03.20), and he’s already been taking notes from the chefs whilst on set.
He admitted: "Last night, I was cooking at home and Dan was like, where did you learn how to do that, and I was like, ‘Ready Steady Cook.’ "
Rylan has been busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen and adding new recipes to his meals with dishes he learned from the BBC One show’s chefs.
He said: "I made Romy’s bread, I’ve made Akis’ hummus, one of the many hummuses he’s made. There’s literally so much I’ve tried!"
The ‘Supermarket Sweep’ host has surprised himself at how much he’s learned from the programme before it’s aired, as he is constantly switching between the contestants.
He added: "It is crazy how much I’ve learnt, and I’m not even sat at home watching everything.
"I’m glancing between the kitchens, getting involved here and getting involved there. But there’s so many tips and tricks that I’ve learnt along the way."
The series will run for five episodes from Monday to Friday, with a focus on minimising food waste, reducing plastic, and budget cooking for the family.
Rylan has taken to the show’s eco-credentials with his very own important role.
He said: "It’s literally been amazing. I’m Head of Bins on the set. So we’ve got the three bins – your mixed recycling, general waste then food waste. I’m like, ‘No that goes in that bin!’
"We show how the food is coming in as well. Nothing is wrapped in plastic, it’s all wrapped in paper."
