Ryan Thomas would jump at the chance to go back to ‘Neighbours’.
The 33-year-old actor – who was known for playing Jason Grimshaw in ‘Coronation Street’ – had a brief stint as Rafael Humphreys in the Australian soap last year and his brother Scott Thomas has admitted the door has been left open for his return.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "Ryan has told us he had an amazing experience working on ‘Neighbours’.
"We’re all massive fans of the show so it was just amazing for him to join the cast. I think producers leave it open for him and he’d be up for going back. He loved it there. It’s one of the best things he’s ever done. You never know, he might go back."
And, although it was only a guest appearance, Ryan certainly made an impression on the cast as he as enjoyed numerous nights out with them before he came back home.
A source told BANG Showbiz at the time: "For someone with a big profile like Ryan, cast and crew have really been taken by surprise by the English star’s laidback and kind nature – he will be missed when he wraps up his guest role."
Ryan was thrilled when he bagged the role over the summer last year.
He said at the time: "I grew up watching ‘Neighbours’ so to get the chance to join the cast is amazing. I was on holiday with my daughter when I got a phone call from my agent asking if I’d like to play this part.
"I spoke to the producer and found out more – it was very different from anything I’d played before – it was quite a deep, dark story, that really interested me.
"It’s a new challenge and I can’t wait to start filming."
