Rupert Everett feels sorry for Madonna’s son

Rupert Everett feels sorry for Madonna’s 15-year-old son Rocco.
The 57-year-old British actor – who was a good friend of the chart-topping singer around the time Rocco was born – has admitted he can sympathise with the teenager, who abruptly walked out of his mother’s Rebel Heart tour to spend more time with his movie director father, Guy Ritchie.
Rupert told the Sunday Times newspaper: "Can you imagine living on tour, with a governess, in endless hotels, and air conditioning, presidential suites, fruit bowls, champagne buckets and some roadie brings your trunk in.
"And your governess is some hideous old hack being paid £50,000 a week just to …"
At that point, Rupert was asked explicitly if he thinks Madonna is emotionally abusive towards her son, and he said: "Kind of. And you’re longing to be a normal kid?"
Rupert and Madonna fell out in spectacular fashion after he wrote a series of uncomplimentary things about the singer in his memoirs in 2006.
A passage of his memoirs reads: "In no way was she conventionally beautiful. She was a bit like a Picasso. When she fixed you with her regard, there was a tenderness and warmth that made your skin bump, but when she looked away, it was like sunbathing on a cold day and suddenly a cloud comes.
"She was raucous but poised, elegant but common. She had the cupid-bow lips of a silent screen star, and it was obvious that she was playing with Sean [Penn] underneath the table throughout the meal.
"She was mesmerising. She oozed sex and demanded a sexual response from everyone. It didn’t matter if you were gay. You were swept up all the same. In those early years there was no male who would not want to bed her."
