Royals join viewers to Clap for Carers on The Big Night In

Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Prince William and Duchess Catherine joined viewers to Clap for Carers on ‘The Big Night In’.
The Prince of Wales and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, were filmed standing on the doorstep of their home in Birkhall, Scotland as they took part in the weekly event to show the country’s support for the NHS and frontline workers.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were joined by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis for the weekly clap in sweet scenes aired on the BBC One fundraising programme, broadcasted on Thursday (23.04.20) night.
As part of the fundraising drive, the likes of Lenny Henry, Davina McCall, Matt Baker, Zoe Ball and Paddy McGuiness are hosting a series of exciting events to encourage people to donate to Children in Need and Comic Relief to help support the charities faced with even more uncertain times due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A number of famous faces joined Dave Grohl to sing a special version of ‘Times Like These’ by the Foo Fighters, with a special Radio 1 Live Lounge version to raise money for the appeal, with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa and Rita Ora all taking part.
They also showed the results of the Keep Dancing Challenge, which was led by stars of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. People were asked to learn a new dance routine, a little bit every day, and to upload it to social media with the #keepdancingchallenge hashtag. The best clips were shown during the programme.
Elsewhere, the ‘EastEnders’ cast took part in a virtual Queen Vic pub quiz, but it quickly ended when Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) connection died.
The Big Night In is celebrating the acts of kindness, humour and the spirit of hope and resilience that is keeping the nation going during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic with a special night of programming for BBC One.
