Duchess of Cornwall caught Andy Murray’s sweatband at Wimbledon

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall ended up with Andy Murray's sweatband following his second round victory at Wimbledon yesterday (02.07.15).
Celebrating his straight sets win over Robin Haase, the 28-year-old British tennis champion threw his wristband towards Camilla as she sat in the stands of Number One court with interior designer Annabel Elliot and Chairman of the AELTC Philip Brook.
While Andy's sweatband was actually caught by All England Club chairman Philip Brook, he passed it to the 67-year-old Duchess, who is apparently a big Rafael Nadal fan.
A Clarence House spokeswoman said the Duchess and Andy met after his win so she could "pass on her congratulations", and in a tweet to the tennis player, Clarence House said: "Thank you for your wrist band Andy!"
According to the Evening Standard newspaper, Andy later said the Duchess had shown him the sweatband in her bag and a royal source confirmed she was "delighted" with her memento.
Camilla has been having a lot of fun this week, having met with Floral Angels - who take the blooms from weddings and other events and recycle them for hospices, shelters and senior homes - in her London home, Clarence House on Wednesday (01.07.15), where she crafted a bouquet from delphiniums and other native British plants to be taken to a London branch of Maggie's Centre, a cancer charity of which she is patron.

The Queen has invited Middletons for tea after christening

The Queen of England has invited the Middletons for tea at Sandringham following Princess Charlotte's christening on Sunday (05.07.15).
Her Majesty will host a "low-key" reception at her private residence in Norfolk for family and friends following her great-granddaughter's christening at St Mary Magdalene Church, and has invited her granddaughter-in law the Duchess of Cambridge's family to come along, according to the Mail Online.
As well as Kate's parents Carole and Michael and siblings Pippa and James, the guests will include Charlotte's godparents and their partners, as well as the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Justin Welby, and Sandringham Rector The Reverend Canon Jonathan Rivers - both of whom are officiating at the ceremony. However, uncle Prince Harry won't be present on the day as he is on a conservation mission in Africa.
After the royal high tea, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their closest family and friends will retire to their nearby mansion, Anmer Hall.
Unusually for a royal christening, members of the public have been invited to watch the royal party arrive and leave the christening from the paddock outside the church. However, the ceremony will remain private while long-standing royal photographer Mario Testino, who took William and Kate's engagement portrait, will take the official christening photographs.

Princess Eugenie has a new London job

Princess Eugenie is returning to London to become associate director at Hauser & Wirth.
The 25-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York was poached by the top-tier gallery from Paddle8, the New York-based online auction house where she's been working for almost two years.
According to artnetNews.com, a spokesperson for Hauser & Wirth said: "Princess Eugenie has joined Hauser & Wirth as an associate director, and we are delighted to have her as part of the team."
Eugenie will now be helping Hauser & Wirth's illustrious roster of clients to build their art collection. The gallery also has branches in New York and Zurich, so her return to London suggests the princess is keen to be close to her parents and sister Princess Beatrice, as well as her friends, and boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, a former waiter who now runs high-profile clubs and restaurants.
Eugenie's mother Sarah will most likely be happy to get her daughter back home, as she recently hinted she was missing her, as she carried a tote bag with a baby picture of her daughters emblazoned on it, as she stepped out in Cannes.
The 55-year-old former wife of Prince Andrew was pictured getting out of a car to attend a yacht party in Cannes, and the photo on the bag showed the two princesses as little girls, looking adorable sat side by side in similar outfits and wearing matching bonnets.

Queen Victoria’s pants being auctioned off

Britain's Queen Victoria's pants are to be auctioned off.
The 45in waistband knickers, which are embroidered with the royal VR monogram, have been dated back to 1891, and are going to be sold in Chippenham Auction Rooms, Wiltshire on behalf of Yesterday's World museum in Sussex.
Auctioneer Richard Edmonds said: "We've been able to date the pants by measuring the waistband and they are from the last 10 years of her life.
"Earlier in her life she was slimmer but her pants got bigger as she got older. As there's such a good photographic record of Queen Victoria, it's possible to calculate her waist measurement over time, so we know roughly when she would have worn items of this size."
Richard added the 125-year-old underwear was bought by Yesterday's World museum from a descendant of one of Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting.
Speaking to BBC News, he said: "Items of Queen Victoria's clothing were often given to members of the royal household, particularly after her death in 1901, and they're stamped with the royal crest which proves they're from the royal wardrobe."
As well as the pants - which are said to be in "excellent condition" and expected to fetch several thousand pounds on 11 July -, the auction will include nightdresses, stockings and shoes worn by Queen Victoria's third child Princess Alice, as well as replicas of the Crown Jewels.
In 2014, a pair of Queen Victoria's silk bloomers sold at auction in Kent for £6,200.

The Queen meets Britain’s most powerful woman Nicola Sturgeon

The Queen of England met with Nicola Sturgeon yesterday (01.07.15) as she was named Britain's most powerful woman.
Her Majesty met with the SNP leader at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, where she's residing for Holyrood week, celebrating Scottish culture, history and achievement.
The 44-year-old SNP leader beat the likes of Angelina Jolie, Anna Wintour and Caitlyn Jenner to come top of the power list of top 10 influential women put together by BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, after the Scottish party gained 56 MPs at Westminster, under her leadership.
On Monday (30.06.15), Queen Elizabeth was handed the keys to the city of Edinburgh for the week.
Joined by her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, the 89-year-old Queen attended the Ceremony of the Keys, which traditionally marks the start of her stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, her official residence in Scotland. Tradition dictates that, at the end of the week, Her Majesty will return the keys, entrusting their safekeeping to Edinburgh's elected officials.
The Officer Commanding the guard of honour Major Alastair Colville said: "It is an honour to be asked to provide the Guard and formally welcome Her Majesty to Edinburgh.
"The fusiliers will take great pride in guarding her Majesty for the rest of the week."

Duchess of Cornwall gives flower tips

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall has revealed a useful trick when it comes to flowers.
The 67-year-old wife of Prince Charles met with Floral Angels - who take the blooms from weddings and other events and recycle them for hospices, shelters and senior homes - in her London home, Clarence House yesterday (01.07.15), and crafted a bouquet from delphiniums and other native British plants to be taken to a London branch of Maggie's Centre, a cancer charity of which she is patron.
Camilla asked the team: "Do you ever put lemonade in your water? If you put it in then [the flowers] do keep longer and it helps keep the water clear."
The blooms that Camilla was using had been provided by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding florist Shane Connolly and were being "recycled" from Tuesday evening's party for Elephant Family, a charity set up by Camilla's late brother, Mark Shand, that seeks to help the Asian Elephant.
Speaking to People.com, Floral Angels' joint founder Frances Hunter, who joined her colleagues Julie Ritter, Amanda Romaine and Katrien McCarthy at Clarence House said: "(Camilla) is a very experienced flower arranger and she very much enjoys doing it herself. We deliver the bouquets in recycled jars and tins and Clarence House kindly gave us some of their jam jars."
It was very much a flower-filled day for the Duchess, as she later headed to Hampton Court Flower Show.

Princess Charlotte’s £5 christening coin unveiled

The Royal Mint has revealed the design of the £5 coin to celebrate the christening of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
Approved by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Her Majesty the Queen and the Chancellor of the Exchequer and designed by respected engraver John Bergdahl; the coin is decorated with harp-playing cherubs encircled by swags of lilies - which are also included on Prince George's christening coin.
The coin - which will be available in silver and gold - bears the inscription, "To celebrate the Christening of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge 2015".
Shane Bissett, Director of Commemorative Coin and Medals at The Royal Mint said: "These coins will be a fitting addition to The Royal Mint's long tradition of creating works of art to celebrate landmark events in the history of the Royal family. It is entirely appropriate that we commemorate this significant occasion with the release of a special coin, just as we celebrated the christening of Prince George."
A special limited edition £5 coin, also designed by John Bergdahl, was issued by The Royal Mint to mark the birth of Princess Charlotte on 2nd May 2015. Her christening will take place on 5 July at St Mary Magdalene Church at Her Majesty the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Queen Elizabeth visits Edinburgh

The Queen of England has been handed the keys to the city of Edinburgh for the week.
Joined by her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, the 89-year-old Queen attended the Ceremony of the Keys yesterday (31.06.15), which traditionally marks the start of her stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, her official residence in Scotland. According to the MailOnline, the Officer Commanding the guard of honour Major Alastair Colville said: "It is an honour to be asked to provide the Guard and formally welcome Her Majesty to Edinburgh.
"The fusiliers will take great pride in guarding her Majesty for the rest of the week."
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are in Scotland for Holyrood week, which celebrates Scottish culture, history and achievement, and includes an investiture and garden party at the palace.
The royal couple's trip to Edinburgh follows an official state visit to Germany last week, during which they met survivors and liberators of Bergen-Belsen.
The Queen and Prince Philip spent time at the former Nazi concentration camp, where they laid a wreath at a memorial to the 70,000 Jews, Russians and other prisoners.

Mario Testino to photograph Princess Charlotte’s christening

Britain's Princess Charlotte's christening will be photographed by Mario Testino.
The photographer - who was one of Charlotte's late grandmother Princess Diana's favourites - has been chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to take the official pictures for their daughter's christening at St Mary Magdalene Church, Norfolk, this Sunday (05.07.15).
Mario - who took Prince William and Princess Kate's official engagement portraits in 2011 and famously captured Vanity Fair's portraits of Diana before her death at age 36 in 1997 - will shoot the main portraits of the christening party after the ceremony, and is "overwhelmed" to be chosen.
In a statement, the 60-year-old photographer said: "I am overwhelmed and honored to be chosen to document this occasion and to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much."
The portraits will likely include one of the Duke of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte and her brother Prince George as well as Queen Elizabeth and both sets of grandparents.
The statement from Kensington Palace added: "The Duke and Duchess are delighted that Mario Testino will help capture this important moment for their family and look forward to sharing the photographs with the public."
