Britain’s Prince George’s birthday coin

Britain's Prince George's second birthday will be celebrated with a new coin.
The eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine, will turn two next Wednesday (22.07.15) with the Royal Mint releasing a limited edition sterling silver £5 coin to mark the occasion.
The coin - which has been struck especially for the event - features the legend of St George and the dragon re-imagined by artist Christopher Le Brun while the flip side of the item shows a portrait of The Queen by Jody Clark.
Although the coin will only be worth £5, royal fans will have to pay £80 if they want to get their hands on one of the 7,500 which will be available.
Shane Bissett, director of commemorative coin and bullion at the Royal Mint said: "The choice of the St George design to honour Prince George's birthday is an apt one - the name George has long had links with the British monarchy and its coinage, there having been six kings of that name during the Royal Mint's 1,000 year history.
"The choice of a silver £5 coin is significant too as the tradition of crossing the palm of a new born baby with silver is a way to wish them wealth and good health throughout their life."
The 23-month-old toddler's birth, christening and first birthday have been marked with similar commemorative coins, with another recently being unveiled to celebrate the christening of George's sister, Princess Charlotte.

Britain’s Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas has new boyfriend

Britain's Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas has a new boyfriend.
The socialite-turned-actress has reportedly started dating 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' actor Edward Holcroft, despite rumours she had rekindled her relationship with her royal ex.
The 26-year-old star was spotted on a date with the hunk last Tuesday (07.07.15) after which they were seen cosying up together at the Wimbledon tennis championships on Friday (10.07.15).
Cressida split from the 30-year-old prince last April, ending their two year relationship, although they have remained on friendly terms and Harry has been to see her in plays on London's West End.
And while Cressida is moving on, Harry was recently linked to 'Doctor Who' actress Jenna-Louise Coleman after they were seen being "very flirty" with each other at a charity polo match in Coworth Park, London.
An eyewitness said: "From their body language it looked like they were really enjoying each other's company.
"Harry sneaked outside with Jenna. He took her by the hand and led her away from the crowd in the sponsor's tent.
"They sat alone and talked as things were winding up inside the party. It was a very flirty, very tactile encounter. She was leaning in to him and he had his hand on her knee.
"They were sitting very close, laughing lots and touching each other."

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth stops breeding corgis

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has stopped breeding corgis.
The monarch is well known for her love of the breed of dog but has stopped breeding them because she doesn't want to leave any behind when she dies, according to horse whisperer Monty Roberts who has regularly advised her.
After revealing he urged her to breed more Pembrokeshire Welsh corgis in 2012, he told Vanity Fair magazine: "But she didn't want to have any more young dogs.
"She didn't want to leave any young dog behind. She wanted to put an end to it."
The 89-year-old royal has owned more than 30 corgis during her life with her first, named Dookie, being given to her as a young child.
However, she now has just two 12-year-old pooches left, named Holly and Willow, with the cuddly creatures unlikely to live much longer.
The Queen has always shown a close fondness to her four-legged friends and personally feeds them and walks them daily, having previously said, "my corgis are my family".
In 2012, her beloved dog Monty - named after her pal Monty Roberts - delivered a memorable performance when he greeted James Bond at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, although he died later in the year.

Invictus Games 2016 to be held in Orlando, Florida

Britain's Prince Harry has announced the 2016 Invictus Games will be held in Orlando, Florida.
The 30-year-old royal's international adaptive sporting event for injured military members will run from May 8-12 2016 at Disney World's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, following on from the first event in 2014 which took place in London.
In a video posted online, Harry said: "Last year we held the first ever Invictus Games here in London. It was an event which focused the recovery of hundreds of wounded service men and women through support, but more significantly it inspired many hundreds more. The amazing British public embraced these games and its competitors as only they can, thanking them and the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice.
"For every competitor last September, there are hundreds of others around the world who would benefit from having the same opportunity. I am absolutely delighted to announce that the United States has taken up that challenge and will host the next Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida, from the 8th to the 12th of May 2016."
The event uses the power of sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation, with more than 400 competitors from up to 14 nations expected to compete across 10 sports at the games including archery, cycling, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field, triathlon, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis.
The Fisher House Foundation was a sponsor of the 2014 Invictus Games - which was attended by approximately 65,000 spectators and watched by 10 million people on TV - and now the company's Chairman and CEO will serve as the Chairman and CEO of Invictus Games Orlando 2016.
Prince Harry added: "I have no doubt that Ken Fisher and his team will set the bar even higher than London did and that the USA will put on a great show - no pressure."

Prince William wants to stay ‘grounded’

Britain's Prince William wants to stay "grounded".
The 33-year-old prince - who is second in line for the throne - has revealed he took on his new job as an air ambulance pilot because he sees it as the type of job which will help him "to be a good guy".
On his first day in the position on Monday (13.07.15) following months of training, he told Sky News: "For me it is also really important to be grounded. I feel doing a job like this really helps with grounding the core of what I am trying to become ... just trying to be a good guy, trying to do what you can, trying be a decent individual, thoughtful. Qualities in people that you would want to be associated with."
Although he admitted to suffering from "first day nerves", he said he was glad to finally be starting the role, having started training last September.
He added: "It has been a long time coming. A lot of training, a lot of effort."
However, it wasn't a quiet day for William, the Duke of Cambridge, as he was sworn into action just two hours after the start of his shift, jumping into his H145 helicopter to attend a road crash near St Albans at 9.10am (BST), although they were stood down en route as the patient didn't require emergency medical help.

Britain’s Prince Andrew jokes with Sir Patrick Stewart

Britain's Prince Andrew told Sir Patrick Stewart to "live long and prosper".
The 55-year-old royal succeeded the 'Star Trek' actor as chancellor of the University of Huddersfield in a ceremony on Monday (13.07.15) and took the opportunity to make a joke about his most famous role as Captain Jean-Luc Pinard in the science fiction franchise by uttering the catchphrase and delivering a Vulcan peace sign.
During the awards ceremony at the institution, the prince said: "Patrick, thank you very much indeed for your 11 years. It's been, from all that I have heard, a most remarkable time for this university. Thank you for what you've done.
"And I believe there's only one way to say, at the end of your 11 years, farewell and welcome, which is simply: live long and prosper."
Thankfully the 75-year-old actor - who was stepping down from the role after over a decade - took the comments in good spirits and laughed along with the gathered crowd of guests.
As well as being made chancellor, the duke - who became the institution's patron in 2013 - was given an honorary doctorate for his contributions to entrepreneurship, having opened the university's Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Centre two years ago.
Vice-chancellor Professor Bob Cryan said: "His Royal Highness has a natural ally in the University of Huddersfield, where entrepreneurialism is an essential component of our education and our philosophy."

Robbie Williams serenades Prince Albert II of Monaco

Prince Albert II of Monaco was serenaded by Robbie Williams to celebrate a decade on the throne.
The 57-year-old monarch proved himself to be a huge fan of the former Take That star on Sunday night (12.07.15) when he danced and sang along to a greatest hits set from the 41-year-old musician as part of celebrations marking his royal milestone.
The Stoke-born singer belted out well-known singles including 'Rock DJ' and 'Let Me Entertain You' at the Monaco Palace bash, at which Prince Albert was accompanied by his wife Princess Charlene, 37, who he married in 2011.
The couple danced along to the tunes during the show, with Albert having posted lyrics to Robbie's song 'Angels' on Twitter earlier in the day saying he was warming up for the headline performance.
Robbie - who released his 10th studio album of original material 'Swings Both Ways' in 2013 - also seemed to have a good time, describing the evening as "magical" in a post of his own.
He wrote on Twitter: "Congratulations Prince Albert & Princess Charlene: thank you for having us, what a magical evening @GrimaldiPrince (sic)."
And having showed off his dance moves throughout the evening, Prince Albert confirmed he'd also enjoyed the anniversary event, retweeting Robbie's message and writing, "Wonderful Night. (sic)".
