Britain’s Princess Anne visits distillery

Britain's Princess Anne visited a distillery in Cumbria yesterday (22.07.15).
The Princess Royal was welcomed to The Lakes Distillery in Setmurthy, Cumbria by the company's founder and managing director, Paul Currie, before she toured the £7 million development.
Speaking after the event, Paul told ITV News: "It was an incredible honour to have Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal officially open The Lakes Distillery, all of us will remember this day for years to come.
"As the only distillery in Cumbria, we are very proud of our team and our facilities which are already producing award-winning spirits. It was a pleasure to be able to present the fruit of our hard work to such a prestigious guest.
"Her Royal Highness' visit marks the start of our first summer season open to the public. We expect to attract 100,000 guests of all ages to the distillery each year, who will be able to follow the same tour as Her Royal Highness, and we hope they enjoy their visit just as much."
During her visit, Princess Anne revealed a commemorative plaque to mark the official opening on the distillery.
In advance of her arrival, a message posted on the company's website read: "The Princess Royal is to visit the distillery and bistro to officially open England's largest distillery.
"Princess Anne will be introduced to members of staff before unveiling a plaque marking the official opening."

Britain’s Prince George celebrates turning two

Britain's Duke of Edinburgh was one of the first to arrive at Prince George's birthday party.
The son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge turned two-years-old yesterday (22.07.15) and his great-grandfather was seen in a car on his way to Anmer Hall on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.
A number of guests were also seen arriving for the party in several cars, ahead of the 4pm start time.
It was thought that many of George's friends would attend as well as a few of his godparents.
Earlier in the day, a postman was seen delivering a huge number of parcels and cards to the royal address, most likely for the birthday boy.
Meanwhile, a new photograph of Prince George and Prince William has been released to mark his milestone birthday.
In the photograph, captured by Mario Testino on the day of sibling Princess Charlotte's christening, George can be seen smiling for the camera as his proud father holds him.
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: "This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family.
"They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George's second birthday."

Monaco’s Jazmin Grace Grimaldi excited to watch siblings grow up

The Prince of Monaco's daughter "can't wait" to watch her siblings grow up.
Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, who is the daughter of Prince Albert II of Monaco, has admitted she is looking forward to spending lots of her time with her half-brother and half-sister Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, who the 57-year-old royal has with Princess Charlene.
She said: "I can't wait to be a sister to them and watch them grow up. They have these beautiful, big blue eyes - and they are both already so well behaved!
"We like to share family meals, have barbecues, go to the beach, everything a normal family does. Except with heavy scheduling."
And Jazmin, 23, has admitted she has found the spotlight difficult to live in.
Speaking of the time she was formally acknowledged as the Prince's daughter, she told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I was 14, getting ready to go to high school, when it hit the media that my father had a daughter, and it was me.
"It's a difficult time for any young adult, and it was an adjustment to have that attention. But I knew it was going to come someday.
"This is my first interview, my first time going public. It's delicate, but I think I'm ready to step out and share my story a little bit further."

Britain’s Princess Anne attends Thanksgiving service

Britain's Princess Anne attended a Service of Thanksgiving at Peel Cathedral yesterday (21.07.15).
The Princess Royal, who is a patron of the Isle of Man cathedral's appeal to raise £10 million for development, celebrated the success so far with the special service.
The aim of the appeal is to make it a new cultural venue by the end of 2018.
Earlier in the week, the 64-year-old royal visited Rutland Water to open Active Rutland Hub at Oakham Enterprise Park.
Peter Barron, who took part in a race which the Princess watched, has admitted his friends back in the United States of America would be "jealous" he got to rub shoulders with royalty.
He said: "It was really cool to meet her. I was surprised by how much she knew about sailing.
"Some of my friends know a lot about the Royal family so they might be pretty jealous that I've got to meet her."
Unveiling the plaque before she sat down to enjoy the race, Princess Anne offered her best wishes to the club.
She said: "I hope you enjoy it and the many many more members - if you can fit them all in! My very best wishes to you for the future."

Britain’s Prince William’s burger love

Britain's Prince William's "absolute favourite" meal is a burger.
Former RAF chef, Gareth Matheson, has revealed the 33-year-old royal was one of the biggest fans of his Welsh lamb burger, which is topped with cheese, bacon and a fried egg.
Gareth said: "It was William's absolute favourite. Whenever he was on shift he would always ask for it. When he was working nights he would always ask for me to do another one for throughout the night.
"He liked the idea that we were using all local and fresh produce. He liked a little bit of spice but not too much. He doesn't like curries and things like that."
And the 450-calories meal was particularly liked by the Duke of Cambridge because it stopped him snacking late at night.
Gareth told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I suggested it to him, he said he would give it a go and since then he never really looked back. He tried it and loved it and he would have it a couple of times a week. I thought he was going to turn into a burger at one point.
"It is a lot but he used to tell me that because it was a big meal, a good meal, it used to fill him up over the night shift so he wouldn't snack."

Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall meets ‘whopper’ lobster

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall came face to face with a "whopper" lobster.
The 68-year-old royal is currently touring the West Country with her husband, the Prince of Wales, and got up close and personal to the crustacean on the Isles of Scilly.
During a tour of the fair in Hugh Town, she was handed the lobster, where she remarked: "Look at that - she's a whopper."
The lobster is part of the Isles of Scilly Lobster and Crawfish Tagging Project, which aims to monitor numbers of the crustacean in the wild, the Daily Express newspaper reports.
Speaking to the project's organisers, Prince Charles said: "It's fantastic and really good to see that you are having such success with the project."
Meanwhile, during their visit to a pub on a previous day, the Prince - who is first in line to the throne - "pulled quite a competent beer", according to the landlord.
Suzanne Waring, who met up with the royals during their trip, said: "I think it's rather lovely for a member of the Royal family to come to one of the centre spots of the village; it's where you live your life it's not a grand home or a Duchy farm."

Britain’s Prince Harry flies economy class

Britain's Prince Harry flew economy class.
The Ramshaw family from east Yorkshire, England were left shocked when they bumped into the 30-year-old royal on an airplane to Johannesburg, South Africa.
Helen Ramshaw said: "I turned round and said, 'Oh my God, I think Prince Harry is on board. I've seen him get up and go to the toilet'. Of course, no one believed me until they saw him coming back. They all went, 'Oh my God, it's Harry' and Tom said, 'What is he doing on here?' This was just in economy towards the back of the plane, on a flight to Johannesburg."
However, the family avoided approaching the flame-haired royal, who was dressed in black, as he was accompanied by two security guards.
She told the Hull Daily Mail: "His security men would not allow us to speak to him, so I think a selfie may have caused a bit of a stir.
"He's quite a hunk. Tall with a very cheeky smile and twinkly eyes - no wonder the ladies love him."
Prince Harry is in Africa for three months, working on conservation projects.
But his trip has been met by critics, most recently, when a senior minister in the Namibian government dubbed him a "rich westerner" who will "not change anything".

Princess Charlene of Monaco: My son’s a ‘real boss’

Princess Charlene of Monaco's son is a "real boss".
The 37-year-old royal has revealed her seven-month-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella - who she has with Prince Albert II - are already taking after their parents.
She said: "Jacques is a real boss. He's grown a lot and seems to have taken after his father. He only needs a little sleep, and he's looking around all the time.
"He's very observant and has developed a real protective side, which he directs towards his sister Gabriella. They interact in their own little world. It's amazing to watch them."
And the same can be said for the couple's daughter, the former Olympic swimmer has revealed.
She shared: "We've noticed, funnily enough, that she's developing a real princess attitude. I can tell you that her favourite colour is pink and that 'no' is a word she doesn't like.
"Our children share the same passion as us for the water. I'm sure they'll be swimming before they can walk."
And Princess Charlene praised her husband's "affection" for the two little ones.
She told Paris Match magazine: "He's an excellent father. He loves his children and is very affectionate with them. Family life is very important to him.
"It's always touching to see him talking to our children. Sometimes I catch him speaking to Jacques or Gabriella mid-conversation, and he's holding them in his arms with such tenderness."

Britain’s Prince Charles professional pint-puller

Britain's Prince Charles "pulled quite a competent beer" at a West Country pub.
The 66-year-old royal visited the Tintagel Brewery in Cornwall, England and was a natural at serving a pint of Cornwall Pride, according to the pub's landlord.
And local residents lined the streets to see the Duke arrive with the Duchess of Cornwall, with one saying, "It's not often the future King of England comes to your local pub."
During his visit, he also met up with locals Suzanne Warring and Tina Clements.
Suzanne told the West Briton newspaper: "I think it's rather lovely for a member of the Royal family to come to one of the centre spots of the village; it's where you live your life it's not a grand home or a Duchy farm."
Charles also visited a pub's library service, which was supported by the Pub is the Hub non-profit organisation, of which he is a patron.
John Longden OBE, chief executive of Pub is the Hub added: "Whenever he has a royal visit he always tries to include a visit to the Pub is the Hub scheme.
"This time we thought it would be nice to invite four of five of the licensees from the local area to show what they offer."
