Balmoral shames litter louts

Britain's royal estate of Balmoral has warned of litter louts.
The home of the Royal family in Scotland, where the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall spend their summer breaks each year, has highlighted the problem of people littering around the scenic countryside.
Staff posted a photograph on the Balmoral Castle & Estate Facebook page of broken glass and banana skins that were found around the Lochnagar mountain.
A statement next to the image described the tainted land.
It read: "Home to golden eagle, ptarmigan, snow bunting and lots and lots of used tissues, broken glass, drink cans and banana skins.
"This picture shows just some of the litter collected in and around the summit of Lochnagar yesterday!"
The image has enraged locals, who quickly reposted the picture and complained about people "traipsing" over the countryside.
One commented: "And people wonder why landowners don't want people traipsing all over their land? If I turned up in town & sat on a strangers' lawn for a picnic they wouldn't be happy! (sic)".
Another said "Besides cluttering up the amazing and beautiful scenery, leaving trash behind is dangerous to animals, their habitats, and to people who are walking thru the area. I wish people were more considerate."
and enjoy the pursuits of fishing and walking in the beautiful countryside

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia take first royal tour

Sweden's Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are on their first royal tour together.
The glamorous newlyweds - who live in Stockholm - travelled to a nature reserve as part of a two-day visit to Byamossarna in Arvika and were greeted by royal fans and staff at the national park today (27.08.15).
Sofia, Duchess of Värmland - who married Carl Philip, 36, in June - attended the event in aid of Great Corner charity, which supports disadvantaged children.
The couple met students from South Africa who were brought over to study in Sweden from the deprived Langa Township in Cape Town.
In a speech during a ceremony Sofia, 30, described the plight some teenagers face.
She said: "I have personally seen what gang activity can lead to. We have phased out the fragile thread between life and death which our young people are balancing on."
The former reality TV star - who ran a children's charity before marrying Prince Carl Philip in June - added that she sees "hope" through the charity.
She said: "With initiatives as Great Corner and many of the others Project Playground take on, I feel much hope."
Meanwhile, during their wedding ceremony, a loved-up Carl Philip hailed the former model as his "role model".
He said: "Proudly I say:[Sofia] you are my role model.... I have a lot left to do in life, a long journey, but I look forward so much to travelling it with you."

Princess Charlotte’s tartan gift

Britain's Princess Charlotte received a tartan pinafore as a gift from a bagpipe band.
The three-month-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was made the plaid dress by a member of the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band, who performed for her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at Balmoral Castle last week.
Bethany Bisaillion played traditional pipe music for the 89-year-old Queen and Prince Philip, 94, and their daughter-in-law Sophie Wessex, 50, and her daughter Lady Louise, aged 11, and said she was "emotional" when she handed the gift over.
Sh gushed: "I was getting a little emotional. I had to bite my lip and be stoic!
"We hope that she gets it in time that she doesn't grow out of it!"
The little dress features a maple design similar to items made for Prince George and Princess Catherine and the band also made a waistcoat for Prince William, which they presented to the royals on previous visits.
Bethany told Canada AM: "She (Elizabeth) recognized us from our last visit. That's quite extraordinary. The look on her face was priceless. It just warmed my heart. I tried to attempt a really good curtsy but the grass was a bit slippery, so I don't know how I fared!"

Prince Charles won’t let food go to waste

Britain's Prince Charles recycles his leftover dinner.
The "economical" royal doesn't like to see any food go to waste and chef Carolyn Robb - who cooked for Charles and the Princess of Wales and sons Prince William and Prince Harry from 1990 to 2000 - revealed it would be "rehashed" or stored in Tupperware if it wasn't eaten.
She said: "The prince was very economical and very much believed that nothing should go to waste. If there were leftovers, they'd be used one way or another. If not for him, then rehashed and used for a meal the following day. But we were always quite careful: he never wanted to have huge amounts of food on the plate. They were always very thrifty and economical. If we made roasted lamb and there was leftovers, we'd probably go and make Shepard's pie the next night."
Charles, 66, is an environmentalist who champions organic farming methods and made sure the family ate a healthy diet of fresh produce gathered from their Sandringham Estate in Scotland.
Carolyn told Racked: "Prince Charles loved to have game from his hunting. At Highgrove, they'd grow their own fruit and vegetables, so almost everything was homegrown. That was the kind of thing he liked most of all, things from the garden, from the estate. Both he and Princess Diana had a really healthy diet."

Prince Nicolas’ October Christening

Sweden's Prince Nicolas will be christened in October.
Princess Madeleine and her husband Christopher O'Neill have announced the christening of their son, the newest addition to the royal family, which will take place on October 11 in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace.
The little tot - full name Prince Nicolas Paul Gustaf, Duke of Ångermanland - was welcomed into the world in June and has an older sister, 17-month-old Princess Leonore.
His middle name, Paul, is in honour of his late grandfather, who died in 2004
Meanwhile, the family are preparing to move to London by the end of 2015.
The couple moved to Stockholm last year from New York, where they first met.
Madeleine - who spent four years living in America and has resided in the UK before - has previously spoken of how much she adores being married to Chris.
She has said: "The sweetest feeling now that we are married is that we really are a team. It really brings a special bond."
The new baby was born just two days after the Swedish royals welcomed another family member, following Prince Carl Philip's wedding to Sofia Hellqvist.

Queen Elizabeth II won’t celebrate record-breaking reign

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II won't "disrespect" her ancestor by celebrating her record breaking reign.
Her Majesty is determined to let the occasion pass without notice in the royal household when her time on the throne trumps that of Queen Victoria next month, who held the title for 63 years.
A senior aide said: "We are not aware of any private plans [to celebrate on September 9], the Queen made it clear she wanted no fuss."
Whilst a source added: "She would see that as very disrespectful to one of her ancestors."
The stoic monarch has ruled over twelve Prime Ministers - including Sir Winston Churchill - visited 173 commonwealth countries, given 56 televised Christmas messages and held the world record for most currencies featuring the same individual, during her reign.
What's more, the Queen has no need for a passport, since every British passport is issued in her name.
Yet the 89-year-old royal holds her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria - who oversaw Britain's age of industrial expansion, economic progress and the empire - in high regard and won't celebrate the milestone on the actual day.
Instead she will continue her duties on September 9 when she is set to open a new railway line in Scotland.
