Duchess Camilla: I’d be a liability on ‘Loose Women’

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall admitted she would be a "liability" on 'Loose Women'.
Camilla Parker-Bowles was visiting the ITV studios on the broadcaster's 60th birthday (09.09.15) and on meeting panelist Ruth Langsford she told her she was a fan of the show but admitted she'd be terrible on TV.
When she was greeted by the presenter's on the chat show, Camilla said: "I recognise you all."
Asked by Ruth if she would like to join the panel, she joked: "I think I would be a liability."
However, Janet-Street-Porter thinks she would be perfect for the show because she is the right age and "fits the bill".
After her appearance she said: "She told us she was a fan of Loose Women and watches the programme. I think she would be a great panellist.
"She fits the bill; she's the right age, firstly."
Camilla was on a tour of the newly refurbished ITV studios at Waterloo and met all of the staff on 'This Morning - Phillip Schofield, Eamon Holmes and Holly Willoughby - and 'Good Morning Britain's' Lorraine Kelly as well as the 'Loose Women' for their special anniversary.
Prince Charles' wife even spoke about the queen's record breaking reign which coincidentally happened on the same day, Eamonn Holmes revealed she said what a "great day" it was for Elizabeth.
He said: "Camilla told me she thought it was a great day for the Queen, a marvellous day."

Susanna Reid: Queen Elizabeth’s a ‘modern and traditional queen’

Susanna Reid has called Britain's Queen Elizabeth II a "modern and traditional queen".
The 'Good Morning Britain' presenter reported live outside Buckingham Palace this morning (09.09.15) as the queen marks being the longest-reigning monarch in British history and said it's an "extraordinary milestone".
She said: "Such a modern queen and such a traditional queen. And do you remember when she starred alongside Daniel Craig?"
"It's an extraordinary milestone isn't it? I can't imagine there's many people who have done their job for 63 years."
Susanna then showed the new photograph of Her Majesty taken by former Beatle's star Sir Paul McCartney's daughter Mary McCartney.
While many media outlets including ITV have been covering the historic day, the queen herself has reportedly decided not to celebrate and will carry on as usual as it would be "disrespectful" to her ancestors because the start of her reign happened as her father King George VI died on February 6, 1952.
A royal aide said: "The Queen has no intention of celebrating on the actual day. She would see that as very disrespectful to one of her ancestors."

Queen Elizabeth celebrates becoming Britain’s longest-reigning monarch

Queen Elizabeth thanked well-wishers for their "touching messages of kindness" as she became Britain's longest-reigning monarch on Wednesday (09.09.15).
Although it was her special day - which saw the monarch surpass her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, who served for 63 years and seven months - the 89-year-old monarch didn't disrupt her routine and spent part of the day opening a new railroad in Scotland.
Acknowledging her record-breaking reign, the queen admitted "it is one to which I have never aspired".
But she added at the ribbon-cutting ceremony: "Inevitably a long life can pass by many milestones - my own is no exception - but I thank you all and the many others at home and overseas for your touching messages of great kindness."
She was accompanied by her husband Prince Philip as she formally opened the new Scottish Borders Railway.
The exact moment the royal passed Victoria's milestone is not known as there is no precise time for the death of her father, George VI - who died in the early hours of February 6 1952.

Mary McCartney: Queen Elizabeth II is a beacon for womankind

Mary McCartney has hailed Britain's Queen Elizabeth II as a "beacon for womankind".
The 46-year-old daughter of Sir Paul and Linda McCartney was tasked with taking the official photograph of the queen, which was released yesterday (08.09.15) to mark her record-breaking reign of 63 years today (09.09.15).
In a statement released to PEOPLE magazine, she said: "Having grown up during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, It was a thrill to meet her and a very great privilege to take her photo on this historic occasion. She is a truly inspirational person, a trailblazer and a beacon for womankind."
The portrait was taken back in July at Buckingham Palace, London before the queen went on her annual summer stay at Balmoral Castle, Scotland.
The picture was shot in the same room where she had a photo taken with 'SPECTRE' actor Daniel Craig, where she met US President Barack Obama in 2011 and where she meets with British Prime Minister David Cameron every Tuesday.
Her Majesty can be seen sat at a table in a floral frock with a red box as the main focus of the image.
The box contains every State paper she has received over her 63-year-reign and a photographer believes this is her message to say she will be "working as normal" on this historic day.
Royal photographer Arthur Edwards said: "She is sending a message, 'I will carry on working as normal'."

Queen Elizabeth to give small speech in Scotland

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is expected to say a few words about being the longest-serving monarch this afternoon (09.09.15).
Her Majesty is on her way to Scotland by train accompanied by husband the Duke of Edinburgh and Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to open the new Borders Railway in Scotland where she will reflect on her record-breaking-reign however, she is reportedly not going to give a full speech.
A royal source said: "It won't be a speech but there will be a formal moment, a few words in response to someone else."
They will travel on a brand new route, stopping at Newtongrange in Midlothian before arriving at their final destination, the Borders town of Tweedbank where the opening ceremony will be held.
Later today (09.09.15) the queen will precede the record set by her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria.
The exact moment the Queen passes Victoria's milestone is not known as there is no precise time for the death of her father, George VI - who died in the early hours of February 6 1952.

Queen Elizabeth’s journey delayed by fog

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II's journey to Scotland was delayed because of foggy weather conditions.
An announcement made at Tweedbank station, where the queen will be hosting the opening ceremony of the new Borders Railway later today and told the crowd she will be delayed by 60 minutes.
It's believed the weather is the reason she was late as they were unable to fly Her Majesty's helicopter from Balmoral.
However, Elizabeth arrived in Edinburgh at 10.20am and boarded the train heading to Tweedbank at 11.07am, an hour later than expected.
The monarch and Duke of Edinburgh were seen by onlookers looking at the scenery through the carriage window as their train pulled out of Edinburgh Waverly Station.
Royal correspondent Victoria Murphy shared the first photo of them at the station and said she waved to the crowds.
Alongside a photo of the queen and Duke of Edinburgh she wrote: "The Queen boards the train. She gave a wave to the crowd who cheered #longestreign (sic)".

David Cameron leads tributes to Britain’s longest serving monarch

Prime Minister David Cameron will lead tributes to Britain's Queen Elizabeth II as she marks being the longest-serving monarch.
Later today (09.09.15) the queen will have reigned for 63 years and seven months, which amounts to 23,226 days, 16 hours and approximately 30 minutes and the Houses of Commons are postponing duties for 30 minutes to honour the moment in history and pay tribute to Elizabeth who David has described as a "rock of stability in a world of constant change".
The prime minister has posted a series of tweets about the queen and her "selfless" commitment to her role.
He tweeted: "It is only right that we should celebrate her extraordinary record, as well as the grace & dignity with which she serves our country (3/3) (sic)"
He wrote: "Her Majesty has been a rock of stability in a world of constant change, earning admiration for her selfless sense of service & duty (2/3) (sic)"
He added: "Millions of people across Britain will today mark the historic moment when Queen Elizabeth becomes our longest serving monarch (1/3) (sic)"
The 89-year-old royal will spend the day in Scotland where she will attend to her duties as usual including, the opening of a new railway line on the Scottish Borders Railway.
Back in London on the river Thames a flotilla of historic vessels will form a procession between Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
The bridge will be lifted as a sign of respect, HMS Belfast will sound a four-gun salute and the BT Tower in the centre of the capital will have a message rotating which reads "Long may she reign".

Crown Princess Victoria is pregnant

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is pregnant.
The 38-year-old heir to the Swedish throne is expecting her second child with husband Prince Daniel, 41, who already have daughter Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland, three.
A statement from the Swedish royal household released on Friday (04.09.15) on their official Facebook page, which read: "Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are happy to announce that The Crown Princess is expecting their second child. The birth is expected to take place in March of 2016."
The news doesn't affect their schedules and the Royals are not due to take a break from their planned duties during autumn of this year.
The statement continued: "No changes in the schedule of The Crown Princess Couple's public engagements are planned during the fall of 2015."
The pregnancy comes amidst rumours this summer that the Swedish Princess was pregnant after paparazzi spread photos of Victoria with more weight around her stomach while she was on holiday in France earlier in the summer.
The newborn will be third in the line for the throne and is the second Swedish royal arrival in less than a year, and follows the birth of Prince Nicolas, Duke of Ångermanland to Princess Madeleine earlier in the year.
