Princes lives threatened by ‘ginger extremist’

A "ginger extremist" plotted to kill Britain's Prince Charles to make Prince Harry king.
The heir to the throne and his son Prince William's lives were threatended by Mark Colborne, 37, who wrote down plans to assassinate them so that the Prince of Wales' second son Prince Harry could become king "for the Aryan people".
Colborne - who felt bullied for being a white, ginger-haired, man and suffered from agoraphobia and depression - was arrested last year and found guilty of preparing terrorist attacks at the Old Bailey.
His notebooks were used as evidence against him in court because they described the acts of murder and terrorism.
Colborne wrote: 'I don't want to be a serial killer. I'm more of an Anders Breivik.
"I was waiting for an opportunity to kill one of them. Let it be Prince Charles which would be good."
He added: "Take up a good position and put a bullet in Charles's head. He is protected but not too protected. I would sacrifice my life for that one shot. Kill Charles and William and Harry become king. Kill the tyrants."
Prosecutor Annabel Darlow QC said the notes showed hatred for non-Aryans who Colborne referred to as "blacks and Caucasian idiots".
Judge John Bevan QC adjourned sentencing Colborne until November 3 but said that it was a "very strange" case and the defendant was "very strange person".

Prince William turns to wife and brother

Britain's Prince William named his wife Catherine and his brother Prince Harry as his closest confidants.
The 33-year-old royal attended an anti-bullying training day at a school in London yesterday (21.09.15) and was asked to name the top five people he turns to in times of need.
The Duke of Cambridge listed his closest family members, including his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, as the "go to" people in life.
He said: "Catherine, Harry, Father, Grandmother and Grandfather"
The workshops educated pupils and the prince on the problems facing children around cyberbullying and LGBT bullying and William was asked what he would do if he witnessed an act of LGBT bullying.
When questioned on whether he would confront the bully or support the victim, the prince said: "I would start on that side but end up here. I usually find myself right in the middle of problems."
The royal attended the school alongside staff from his late mother's charity The Diana Award, who have trained over 16,000 anti-bullying ambassadors in 3,000 schools across Britain.
Prince William and Princess Catherine are working on projects to help "de-stigmatise" bullying and Catherine also visited a mental health charity and school last week.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said ahead of the prince's visit: "(William) hopes it will help de-stigmatise bullying issues in schools. He particularly likes the idea of a peer-led support network to prevent any child or young person suffering in silence."

Duke of Kent honours Battle of Britain veterans

Britain's Prince Edward honoured veterans from the Battle of Britain in RAF Northolt yesterday (21.09.15).
The Duke of Kent often carries out royal duties on behalf of his first cousin, Queen Elizabeth II, and attended a ceremony to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the conflict that took place from July to October in 1940 over Britain.
The royal - whose father died serving for the RAF in World War II and whose grandfather was King George V - watched as a formation of Spitfires and Hurricanes flew overhead and attended a commemorative dinner later in the day.
Squadon Leader Geoffrey Wellum protected the country at the age of 18 during the battle and lost many of his friends in the fighting.
Speaking at the ceremony, Geoffrey, 92, said: "You accepted losing friends ... In the end you accepted it, it was inevitable. But at 19 years old you cannot go to war in a Spitfire and forget about it. It stays with you for all time.
He went on: "One was aware that the Germans were not doing all this for fun, they meant business so it was bloody serious. What matters is we stopped them for the first time. We defeated them and got them to retreat, that is all that mattered to me."
The celebration was jointly held by the Royal Air Force, the RAF Benevolent Fund, and the RAF Museum, at the RAF's last remaining Battle of Britain station.

William and Harry divided in rugby

Britain's Prince William will support Wales and Prince Harry England when they watch the Rugby World Cup on Saturday (26.09.15).
The royal is a vice-patron of the Welsh Rugby Union and revealed he will be firmly supporting them and needs a "win more than ever" when he watches the game with his younger brother.
William, 33, said: "Unfortunately, I will be watching you with my brother, so I will need a Wales win more than ever!
England and Wales have been drawn together in what has been called the 'Pool of Death' with two-time champions Australia.
But William is adamant the assembled team have the determination to win.
Speaking as he presented the Wales squad with their tournament caps in a ceremony at London's Guildhall on Monday (21.09.15), he said: "Whilst we have been dealt a very tough group stage, I firmly believe that, with a simple, determined, match-winning mindset, this (Wales) team can progress into the knockout stages and beyond."
Prince Harry, 31, will be supporting England but the second in line to the throne isn't too worried.
He said: "I look forward to having plenty to cheer about throughout the tournament."

Prince Edward names new lifeboat

Britain's Duke of Kent attended a lifeboat naming ceremony in Lowestoft yesterday (21.09.15).
Prince Edward - who is president of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) - spoke at the event on Sunday morning at the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club, at which the Shannon class boat was given the name 'Patsy Knight'.
He addressed the crowd: "I have every confidence that when the call comes, this craft and her crew will be equal to the demands placed on them and that the high standards and the proud traditions of the RNLI will be maintained."
The vessel was named after Patsy Knight, who died in May 2005 at the age of 63 and left a substantial amount of money from her estate to Lowestoft lifeboat station, one of the oldest in the British isles.
Crew from Dutch lifeboat station KNRM, the Netherlands Search and Rescue lifeboat station at Ijmuiden attended the historic ceremony along with two boats from the Gorleston station and one from Southwold.
A representative of Patsy's family, Hilary Watts, said: "Patsy would have loved to have been here today to see how her generosity is benefitting the lifesavers that she always admired. It is a special day for everyone who knew her; it is like she has come home."

Prince Charles remembers ‘The Frew’

Britain's Prince Charles met veteran pilots and watched a flypast at a thanksgiving service to mark the Battle of Britain yesterday (20.09.15).
Spitfires and Hurricanes flew over London as the heir to the throne and survivors of the fighting - that took place 75 years ago during World War Two - remembered 'The Few' at Westminster Abbey.
The monarch laid a wreath in the RAF Chapel on behalf of 'The Few' - the term coined by Sir Winston Churchill's phrase: "Never, in the field of human conflict, was so much owed by so many to so few."
Six pilots, now aged in their '90s, stood in front of a 2,200 strong crowd at the ceremony, as the last remaining aircrew out of the 2353 who took part in the 1940 conflict.
Back then, the average age of a pilot was 20 and 544 men died fighting to resist the strength of Hitler's opposing Luftwaffe.
One of the pilots, Flying Officer Ken Wilkinson, 97, flew Spitfires with 616 Squadron under Sir Douglas Bader.
Recalling their determination and fighting spirit, he told The Daily Mirror newspaper: "We were cocky. Stupidly cocky, if you like. We just didn't envisage defeat. Some people may have been killed, but we knew we were going to win."

Prince Harry’s ‘banter’ on film set

Britain's Prince Harry and Jonny Wilkinson had "banter" on set during filming for the Rugby World Cup video.
The 31-year-old royal and England rugby's golden boy had cameos in the short movie made about the sport's origins and 14-year-old Ed Anthony - who played a young William Webb Ellis who invented rugby in 1823 - said the pair looked like firm friends.
He said: "All this has been incredible fun and getting the chance to be with Prince Harry and Jonny was quite something - they get on so well, there's always banter between them.
He added: "Although I wouldn't want to be a royal, I now know what a difficult job they do and I have huge respect for them."
It was a dream role for the youngster but Ed revealed after 20 takes of the scene, where he runs past Prince Harry who plays a gardner, the royal spotted that he was exhausted and called time on filming.
Ed told The Daily Telegraph: "Towards the end I was getting tired as I had the run-up to get my speed going and the wind-down.
"Prince Harry noticed and asked the director if I could have a breather which was so nice of him."
