Prince Charles’ praise for grant recipient

Britain's Prince Charles has paid tribute to a former criminal who turned his life around after receiving a grant from his charity, the Prince's Trust.
Duane Jackson approached the charity for money to set up his own software business following his release from jail after serving time for drug smuggling and Charles revealed his pride at Duane's success.
Speaking in a pre-recorded video message at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards on Monday (28.09.15), Charles praised Duane for establishing a multi-million pound business and donating money back to the charity.
He said: "At the very heart of the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards lies a recognition shared by my Prince's Trust.

Prince Philip ‘obsessed’ with fishing

Prince Philip has become obsessed with fishing.
The 94-year-old husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth has developed a passion for the gentle sport after being forced to give up shooting following an operation to have a stent inserted in his heart in December 2011.
A source told the Daily Express newspaper: "Fishing has become his preferred pastime at Balmoral because he can no longer shoot. The recoil of the gun was too dangerous.
"If he has caught some brown trout he loves to cook it over a barbecue. As long as he is active and not sitting around he is happy. His stamina for a man of his age is incredible."
Philip is said to have spent a happy summer at his and the queen's Scottish estate Balmoral, where he has been spending hours fly-fishing.
The insider said: "This summer the duke has almost been obsessed with fishing and it has become his main activity. He goes out for hours and only stops for meals. He has been out in all weathers and just can't stand being idle."

Prince Harry surprises students

Britain's Prince Harry paid students at The Duke of York's Royal Military School a surprise visit on Monday (28.09.15).
Indeed, the students were so shocked that many at first refused to believe their visitor was the 31-year-old royal, who arrived to hand out medals to outstanding students.
Bradley Benhan, 14, told PEOPLE: "People behind me were asking who it was, and when I told them, they wouldn't believe me."
Sean Dunoo, 11, added: "I thought, 'Is that Prince Harry?' Then I asked my friend next to me and he said, 'Probably not.' But I said, 'Yes, it's him!'"
Harry was invited to the school by his friend Simon Daglish, co-founder of military charity Walking with the Wounded, whose son attends the establishment.
The prince used his visit to encourage the youngsters to consider the military as a career.
When Harry Hodson, 15, told him he was not planning to go into the military, Harry replied: "The Army's not for you? Let's talk about it."
The school, in Dover, Kent, is a state-run boarding institution which has a number of pupils from military families.

Royal calls for King Salman to be removed

A Saudi prince has called for King Salman to be removed from power.
The unnamed royal - identified only as one of the grandsons of the state's founder, Abdulaziz Ibn Saud - believes that the 79-year-old king is not in control of Saudi Arabia and says that a number of people are anxious about his leadership.
After posting two letters about his concerns online, the prince told The Guardian newspaper: "The king is not in a stable condition and in reality the son of the king [Mohammed bin Salman] is ruling the kingdom. So four or possibly five of my uncles will meet soon to discuss the letters. They are making a plan with a lot of nephews and that will open the door. A lot of the second generation is very anxious.
"The public are also pushing this very hard, all kinds of people, tribal leaders. They say you have to do this or the country will go to disaster."
Two disasters have struck Mecca recently - the collapse of a crane at the Grand Mosque, and a stampede in the holy city.
Senior royals are also reportedly concerned about the economic situation in the country and the recent military intervention in Yemen.

Cressida Bonas rules out marriage to Prince Harry

Cressida Bonas has reportedly told Britain's Prince Harry she is not ready to get married.
Although the 26-year-old actress has recently sparked reports that she has rekindled her romance with Harry, 31, she isn't willing to settle down.
A source told Grazia: "Cressida has her acting career to think of, so dating a prince can be a double-edged sword. She's told him that if they get back together officially, there will be no talk of marriage."
However, Cressida is still smitten with the prince.
The insider explained: "Cressida hasn't managed to get Harry out of her system. She's missed him and now they are apparently involved again."
They are even planning to meet up in Norfolk soon when both are visiting family.
The source said: "Cressie's dad lives near Prince William and Duchess Catherine and she happened to be planning to visit the same weekend so Harry asked her to meet up.
"There are still feelings on both sides and Cressida can't seem to get over him."

Cheerful Queen Elizabeth

Britain's Queen Elizabeth was in "fabulous form" as she met soldiers from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards on a visit to the regiment's new barracks in Fife in Scotland on Monday (28.09.15).
The 89-year-old monarch, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the unit, travelled by helicopter from her Scottish estate Balmoral to visit with the regiment.
A source told PEOPLE that the queen was in "fabulous form" as she carried out the engagement.
Lt Colonel Cattermole told the Daily Express: "It was an honour to be visited by our Colonel-in-Chief in our new home. Her Majesty took great interest in the work the regiment is doing here in the UK, supporting UK resilience, and overseas on numerous training missions."
Earlier this month, the queen became Britain's longest-reigning monarch, surpassing her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, who served for 63 years and seven months.
Acknowledging her record-breaking reign, the queen admitted "it is one to which I have never aspired".
But she added: "Inevitably a long life can pass by many milestones - my own is no exception - but I thank you all and the many others at home and overseas for your touching messages of great kindness."

Prince William praised for anti-bullying campaign

Will Poulter has praised Prince William for helping to fight bullying.
The future British king joined the 'Maze Runner' actor at an anti-bullying workshop in London last week and Will was hugely impressed with the royal's involvement.
He told PEOPLE that William: "seems genuinely invested in wanting to cause a change to the way in which we approach bullying at our schools and ensure schools are a happy and safe place for people to be".
Will also tweeted about the event, writing: "Amazing vibes and positive energy today at the @AntiBullyingPro event. Honour to have the support of Prince William (sic)."
At the workshop, William was asked to name the top five people he turns to in times of need.
The Duke of Cambridge listed his closest family members, including his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, as the "go to" people in life.
He said: "Catherine, Harry, Father, Grandmother and Grandfather"
The workshops educated pupils and the prince on the problems facing children around cyberbullying and LGBT bullying and William was asked what he would do if he witnessed an act of LGBT bullying.
When questioned on whether he would confront the bully or support the victim, the prince said: "I would start on that side but end up here. I usually find myself right in the middle of problems."
The royal attended the school alongside staff from his late mother's charity The Diana Award, who have trained over 16,000 anti-bullying ambassadors in 3,000 schools across Britain.

Queen Elizabeth to spend less time at Buckingham Palace?

Queen Elizabeth reportedly wants to spend less time at Buckingham Palace.
The 89-year-old royal - who recently became Britain's longest-serving monarch - currently spends about six months of the year at her London residence but wants to reduce her time there, especially if her husband Prince Philip, 94, dies before her.
A source told the Sunday Times newspaper: "There is a feeling that if the Duke of Edinburgh passed away her preference would be to spend more time in Scotland.
"The discussion has been that if he goes before her, that would be her wish.
"She loves Scotland, it has always been a great comfort to her, where she is happiest and most relaxed.
"She's a different person up there. At Balmoral she feels she doesn't have to be a caricature of a queen.
"Everyone will play it by ear but the feeling is the Scottish plan will be what she wants to do."
Despite her love of Scotland, the monarch is also said to be considering Windsor Castle as her main base.
