Prince Harry misses the army

Britain's Prince Harry misses the army.
The 31-year-old royal retired in June after a 10-year military career but admitted there are many parts of his former career that he will always miss.
Speaking as he took part in a walk for charity Walking With The Wounded, Harry told ITV News: I miss parts of it. That military banter never goes, that dark sense of humour will always be there. We'll get into trouble together.
"If you're lucky enough to be able to serve your country then you don't think of anything else. Even when these guys are getting injured, the first thought is in their mind is 'Christ it's happened to me'.
"You never believe it will happen to you. Of course you believe you're lucky but let's not forget the families who are put through that pain and stress as well."
Harry also insisted that he will do everything he can to help injured servicemen and women and said that mental health is a topic which needs more attention.
He explained: "Mental health is a sensitive subject but it doesn't need to be. We need to talk about it more, get rid of the stigma.
"What better people to bring that to the forefront than these guys? They are mentally strong and they are willing to talk about it.
"I love spending time with these guys. I like to think I know roughly what they're going through as well. It's hard to say that because everyone is unique but the main focus, from my point of view, for the rest of my life anyway is to make sure they get the best support possible because I know, and more people are starting to see, how valuable they are within society."

Prince Harry inspired by Diana

Britain's Prince Harry has been inspired by his late mother Princess Diana.
The 31-year-old royal is heavily involved with a number of good causes, including the charity Walking With The Wounded, which helps injured ex-servicemen and women and although his name brings a spotlight to the causes, he also tries to do a lot of good work behind the scenes.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's equally important, if not more so, to do the stuff behind the scenes.
"It's something that our mother did a lot of and that's the time that you really get to learn, you get the experiences and you actually get the honest truth out of people."
The prince - who retired from the British Army in June, ending a 10-year military career - said he will do whatever he can to support his injured former colleagues.
He explained: "At the end of the day whatever support I can give a good cause like this means a lot to me.
"With these guys and Walking With The Wounded, I've got a lot of history with them.
"For me it's just really important to be able to stay connected with them, especially now that I've left the forces.
"For a lot of these guys as soon as they leave, one of the biggest things they miss is that camaraderie, that team work, that being appreciated as part of a team."

Prince Philip knighthood ‘injudicious’

Tony Abbott says his decision to award Prince Philip a knighthood was "injudicious".
The ousted Australian Prime Minister brought back the knights and dames honours list in March 2014 and faced criticism for awarding the Duke of Edinburgh - husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth - the Order of Australia.
He told Melbourne radio station 3AW."Obviously, it was an injudicious appointment, obviously.
"Interestingly though, it prompted me to put all awards in the Order of Australia into the hands of the Council of the Order and that's probably what should have happened from the beginning."
Abbott's successor Malcolm Turnbull will reportedly get rid of the honours list.
He is expected to be supported by cabinet with a proposal to remove the royal titles.
Mr Abbott refused to answer when asked if he awarded Prince Philip, 94, the title because Queen Elizabeth complained he hadn't been "rewarded" enough Down Under.
Greg Sheridan previously made the sensational claim in his column in The Australian, writing: "The inside story of the knighthood has not been revealed before and this information does not come from Abbott. But Abbott gave Philip a knighthood because he learned the queen wanted her husband to have one."
He went on to claim the 89-year-old monarch contacted the Australian authorities because she felt her husband hadn't been so "richly rewarded" as their son Prince Charles, 66.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine to attend World Mental Health Day event

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will mark World Mental Health Day at an event hosted by Mind at London's Harrow College on Saturday, 10 October.
The royal couple will meet young people who have battled their own mental health problems and now volunteer with Mind in Harrow or the anti-stigma campaign Time to Change, to raise awareness about mental health with other young people.
Paul Farmer, CEO of Mind, said: "We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be joining Mind to celebrate this year's World Mental Health Day. Their support will shine a spotlight on mental health and we hope it will spark conversations in households across the country, amplifying the vital message that it's time to talk about mental health. We hope it will encourage people to think about the little things we can all do to make a difference to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
"The Duke and Duchess will meet young people who have experienced mental health problems and volunteer for our Mindkit project, which is being delivered across London and educates young people about emotional health and resilience. They will also be introduced to some of our Time to Change young champions. Through this invaluable work we are reaching more young people every year, raising awareness about mental health and breaking down the stigma that stops young people speaking out and getting help. Together we'll celebrate both the personal achievements of young people who battle mental health problems every day, and the success of local projects that work to help young people through difficult times."
Mr Farmer also praised Prince William and Duchess Catherine for their work to raise awareness of mental health problems that young people face.
He said: "The Duke and Duchess are committed to raising awareness about the mental health problems faced by young people and we are grateful that they have chosen to champion Mind's work. We hope it will inspire a new generation of young people to not be afraid or ashamed to talk about mental health problems."

Prince Harry not ready for marriage

Britain's Prince Harry says he is in no rush to get married.
The 31-year-old royal - who is believed to have recently rekindled his relationship with actress and socialite Cressida Bonas, 26 - has insisted that he is far too busy to even think about settling down right now.
As he joined a group of ex-servicemen and women on part of their 1,000 mile trek across Britain for charity Walking With The Wounded, Harry was asked by ITV News if he was "anywhere near settling down".
The fifth in line to the British throne replied: "No. There are a lot of things to get done before settling down. Another seven miles to walk now which I'm not looking forward to... eight! Everyone looks forward to settling down but in the meantime it's work as usual so let's crack on."
Harry's comments come soon after Cressida reportedly told him that she is not ready to get married.
A source told Grazia: "Cressida has her acting career to think of, so dating a prince can be a double-edged sword. She's told him that if they get back together officially, there will be no talk of marriage."
However, Cressida is still smitten with the prince.
The insider explained: "Cressida hasn't managed to get Harry out of her system. She's missed him and now they are apparently involved again."

Prince Charles battles climate change

Prince Charles has urged judges to get involved in the fight against climate change.
The keen environmentalist and heir to the British throne has written a letter to the Climate Change and the Courts conference, attended by a number of senior judges, in which he said courts will "play a crucial role" on matters of environmental regulation.
He asked that they "discuss ways courts can support the achievement of climate change goals", and added: "You can help to inform the public and fellow members of your profession that we must act urgently to prevent the disastrous consequences of global warming.
"Achievement of legally binding goals such as cutting greenhouse gas emissions are long-term aims that independent courts may be called upon to oversee."
In his letter, Prince Charles also praised judges for "engaging with the issue".
He wrote: "It occurs to me - as I am sure it does to all of you -that our courts will also play a crucial role in helping us to mitigate and adapt to climate change. I am heartened to see that so many illustrious legal practitioners, judges and academics are engaging with this issue.
"I am sure that politicians and judges alike will be astute to ensure that as a society we do not allow ourselves to be distracted from our environmental commitments.
"I fervently believe that the appalling threat human-induced climate change poses to mankind's future cannot and should not be under-estimated."

King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s low-key date night

Spain's King Felipe and Queen Letizia enjoyed a low-key date night in Madrid on Saturday (27.09.15).
The royal couple - who have just returned to Spain following an official visit to the US - went to the cinema to see Woody Allen's 'Irrational Man' before enjoying a late dinner at Cajun restaurant Gumbo.
A witness, Elsa Aguado, told El Mundo newspaper: "They arrived without warning. They came on their own. Even the waiters were surprised, because they hadn't booked a table in his name. Apparently, it was the first time they'd been to the restaurant."
Although they attempted to keep a low profile, Felipe and Letizia happily posed for pictures with fellow diners at the restaurant.
After their meal, the pair enjoyed a romantic stroll around Calle Pez (Fish Street) at 1.30am before going home.
One thrilled passer-by tweeted: "Madrid has cool things. But to be walking around Malasana and bumping into the [royals] is something else."
Meanwhile, it's been a tough year for the brunette beauty so far as her grandfather sadly passed away two months ago.
Francisco Rocasolano, 98, tragically died in hospital in Salamanca, Spain in July due to coronary problems.
Queen Letizia was forced to cancel her arrangements to assist the National Fashion Awards ceremony at the Museo Del Traje in Madrid at the time in order to be with her family.

Queen Rania meets Ahmed Mohamed

Queen Rania of Jordan has met with Ahmed Mohamed.
The 14-year-old high school student was taken from his high school in Texas in handcuffs after authorities mistook his homemade clock for a bomb and Ahmed has received support from a number of high-profile people including President Barack Obama.
He met with Queen Rania on Sunday (28.09.15) in New York at the Social Good Summit during United Nations week.
She took to her Twitter account to share a picture of them together and wrote: "Lovely seeing Ahmed Mohammed at the Social Good Summit today! #2030NOW."
Their meeting comes after President Obama reached out to Ahmed via Twitter to invite him to the White House.
He wrote: "Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great."
Ahmed had made a digital clock from a pencil case and brought it to school to show his teacher when a member of staff reported it to the police after mistakenly believing it was a bomb.

Daniel Craig fan Queen Elizabeth

Britain's Queen Elizabeth is a huge fan of Daniel Craig.
The 89-year-old monarch filmed a sketch for London's 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony with the actor in character as suave spy James Bond and director Danny Boyle revealed she agreed to take part because she wanted a picture with Daniel, 47.
He told the Daily Beast: "While we were doing it, I was thinking, 'Well, why did she agree to do this?' We sent the idea in to them and we were already planning what we'd do instead because we thought she'd never agree. And they agreed!
"And you immediately stop and think, 'Why?' The queen doesn't need anything, and doesn't need anything to do with PR. But you know what? The queen wanted pictures with Daniel Craig! I kid you not. She wanted pictures with him."
And according to Danny, the queen also made sure that her staff all got pictures with the hunky actor.
He added: "They were insistent that they all get pictures with Daniel Craig so, on their royal Facebook or whatever, they could post the pictures of her and her staff. And it wasn't just her. She wanted her staff, who'd been there for years, to have pictures with Daniel. They were acting like regular people, and it's fun to say, 'There I am with James Bond!'"
