Princess Anne visits Himley Hall Sailing Club

Britain's Princess Anne paid a visit to the Himley Hall Sailing Club in Dudley on Tuesday (06.10.15).
The 65-year-old royal - the daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip - stopped by the family-friendly club in the West Midlands earlier this week to officially open a new landing area built by members and meet the founders of the club.
The Princess arrived at Himley Hall via her private jet before she was whisked off to the lakeside by car where marquees had been set up ahead of her royal arrival.
Anne chatted away to some of the members of the club before she congratulated them for recently being named one of the top five finalists in the Royal Yachting Association's prestigious Club of the Year awards.
During her visit she also unveiled a plague to mark the occasions and scribbled her signature in the visitors book.
Before she left, the Princess was asked to cut a cake baked by Becky Harding, who has been a member of the club for 14 years, made especially for the occasion.
But the royal didn't seem too keen to cut the calorific treat.
She asked: "Has everybody seen this? It is absolutely wonderful. It is gross vandalism to cut it."
Speaking to the Express and Star newspaper, Becky, 28, said of the Princess' praise: "It was absolutely incredible and so exciting. I'm so pleased she liked the cake."

Monaco’s Princess Stephanie credits her adopted elephants

Monaco's Princess Stephanie believes her rescue elephants came into her life "at the right time."
The 50-year-old royal adopted Baby, 42, and Nepal, 43, two years ago after they were condemned to be euthanised following a possible exposure to tuberculosis and has credited them for teaching her "so much" about herself.
Speaking in France's Point de Vue magazine, she said: "When I tell you that Baby and Nepal arrived at the right moment in my life, I firmly believe it. They have taught me so much about myself. I'm no longer the same."
The two retired circus elephants, who were living in a zoo in France, now reside at Fontbonne Reserve in France on top of a mountain overlooking Monaco, just 15 minutes away.
She added: "I take care of the elephants and also of the property, which belongs to my brother, Prince Albert II. I love this place. This space is truly soothing, so serene."
The brunette beauty - the daughter of Grace Kelly - cared for the Asian elephants every day after they arrived.
She explained: "After watching them I slowly began to recognise signs which showed that a true trust, mutual respect, was settling in between us.
"This requires a lot of patience. Asian elephants have always worked with people and they like company. We sensed right away that Baby and Nepal demanded contact."

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ban aircrafts from flying over their house

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have enforced a no-fly zone over their new house in Norfolk for their security.
The royal couple - who have son Prince George, two, and five-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte - have been granted permission to ban aircrafts from flying within 1.5 miles of Anmer Hall, situated on the Queen's Sandringham Estate, to stop photographs being taken of their home.
The Department for Transport, which has agreed to the request, told the Daily Mail newspaper the ban was required "in view of the need for security for the Royal Family."
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has stated no aircraft is to fly below 2,000ft within the restricted airspace, apart from emergency service jets including the East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
Queen Elizabeth - William's grandmother - and any other member of the royal family are also exempt from the ban.
The ban will kick off from next month and then from the December 1 to March 1 each year after that in order to cover the Christmas period when the royal family are in residence.
William and Catherine, both 33, divide their time between Anmer Hall, which was given to them by the monarch, and their lavish apartment at Kensington Palace in London.

Prince Harry wants Japan to win Rugby World Cup

Britain's Prince Harry thinks it'll be "fantastic" if Japan win the Rugby World Cup.
The 31-year-old royal, who was left devastated last week when England bowed out of the tournament after losing to Wales and Australia, is keen for the East Asian team to walk away with the trophy when the competition wraps up.
Speaking to the children during his visit to the Paignton Rugby Club in Devon yesterday (07.10.15), he asked: "Who do you want to win the World Cup now England are out?"
After a number of youngsters shouted Japan, the handsome Prince seemingly forgot about the other home nations - including Wales - as he replied: "Everyone keeps saying Japan. It would be fantastic if Japan won."
News Harry wants Japan to win the tournament will unlikely go down well with his brother Prince William, 33, as he's an avid supporter of Wales and regularly attends their games.
The Duke of Cambridge, who is the Vice Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, is reportedly keen to persuade his younger sibling to support his team in the quarter finals.
Robin McBryde, former rugby union player for Wales, previously told the Daily Mail newspaper: "The Duke of Cambridge is an avid (Wales) supporter and it was good to see him in the changing room after the Fiji game."
He added: "He is going to support Wales and hopefully if he can influence his brother Harry to put on a Welsh shirt, that will be great to see as well."

Princess Sofia was reduced to tears during hometown visit

Sweden's Princess Sofia was reduced to tears when she visited her hometown Älvdalen on Tuesday (06.10.15).
The Duchess struggled to contain her emotions when she arrived at the beautiful place in Sweden with her husband Prince Carl Philip to be greeted by hundreds of onlookers.
The brunette beauty, who hasn't returned home since she married her beau in june, told the crowd of people: "I'm glad that so many have come, I really appreciate that. I was not sure if any would come."
According to HELLO! magazine, she added: "Dear Älvdalsbor, many thanks for allowing us to be with you here today. I must admit that I was pretty nervous to come here in a complete new role, but your warm reception made it much easier. I was touched to see you here. It felt very special."
Sofia - who was known as Sofia Kristina Hellqvist prior to her nuptials earlier this year - went on to praise the county Dalarna for shaping her into the person she is today.
She explained: "Dalarna has a very important place in my heart and especially Älvdalen. Here, I've spent years, and it largely shaped me as a person.
"Dalarna is very beautiful, I am not only thinking of the nature but also of the beautiful people here."
After greeting the residents, the former model took her handsome spouse on a walk in the countryside, before they travelled to the Idre Sami Village and spoke to the locals about how much they have enjoyed their two-day visit.

Queen Elizabeth returns to Buckingham Palace

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has returned to Buckingham Palace after spending the summer period in Balmoral.
The 89-year-old monarch has flown back to her home in London following a few months at her estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, for the warmer season.
As per protocol, the Royal Standard flag was raised, in place of the Union Jack, above the residence and workplace of the monarch to mark her return to the English capital.
The Queen took a brief break from her summer holiday on September 9 in order to officially open the Borders Railway in Tweedbank, Scotland, despite saying the milestone was not one to which she has ever "aspired."
She also made a brief return to London the month before to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory Over Japan (VJ) Day on August 15 before swiftly returning to her lavish castle.
Meanwhile, the royal is set to have her hands full this year as she's hosting a high-profile Rugby World Cup reception at the Palace next week and welcoming a visit from the Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 20.
Next month she'll jet across to Malta for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting as well as kicking off preparations for her 90th birthday on April 21.

Prince Harry visits rugby club

Britain's Prince Harry paid a visit to the Paignton Rugby Club in Devon on Wednesday (07.10.15).
The 31-year-old royal, who is a big fan of the sport, was in his element when he stopped by the club in southwest England to support the Rugby Football Union's (RFU) World Cup legacy programme, which tries to encourage more people - of all ages - to play the game.
The flame-haired hunk spent just under an hour at the club where he met and chatted way to the children from some of the secondary schools involved in the RFU's All Schools Programme, which hopes to take rugby to 350 more learning facilities by the time the next World Cup kicks off in 2019.
The programme offers support to the state schools over three years by providing coaching, student volunteer training as well as vital kit and equipment.
Harry, who is the patron for the All Schools Programme, later presented the club with the gold standard award for the contribution it's making to promoting rugby in the area.
Although he seemed to get on well with the children, the Prince disappointed a few when they asked him to play rugby with them and he refused due to his posh ensemble.
He said with a cheeky smile: "I can't. I'm in a suit."
After wrapping up his tour of the rugby club, Harry made his way to the Namibia versus Georgia game in Exeter.
Despite his beaming smile and positive attitude, the handsome Prince was left disappointed last week when England took an early exit from the World Cup following defeat from Wales and Australia.

Duchess Camilla’s former childhood home goes on sale for £2.5m

Britain's Duchess Camilla's former childhood home in Plumpton, East Sussex, is being sold for £2.5 million.
The 68-year-old royal's old home, where she was raised, in South East England has gone on the market for the hefty asking sum after being slashed in price by £650,000.
The home, which first went up for sale in March, is set within five acres of land and boasts views of the South Downs.
The lavish property, which is on the market with estate agent Strutt and Parker, is currently home to actor James Wilby, the actor, who is best known for roles in 'Maurice', 'Gosford Park,' 'A Summer Story' and 'A Handful Of Dust.'
James and wife Shana Louise bought the house from Camilla's father Major Bruce Shand, who lived there for 45 years, but have now decided to sell in order to downsize.
The estate, known as The Laines, is complete with a paddock, a swimming pool and a tennis court, while the inside boasts seven bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Camilla - who married Prince Charles in 2005 - previously said she has "fond memories" of her childhood in Sussex.

Queen Elizabeth gets normal treatment from dress maker

Britain's Queen Elizabeth's dress maker says she treats her "no different" to her other customers.
June Kenton from premier lingerie retailer Rigby & Peller, who has fitted the monarch with lingerie for 33 years, has admitted she kits the 89-year-old royal out with made-to-measure bras in the same way she does her other clients.
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, June, who also worked with the late Princess Diana, said: "Every woman in the world grew two [boobs], and these two that are here need to be sorted out. The Queen is no different from any of our customers because they need to be seen to, and they need to be wearing the correct size."
However, there is one difference between her and the other customers as June doesn't refer to everyone as Your Majesty.
She added: "I wouldn't think that anybody walks into my store where I would have to curtsy and say, 'Good morning, Your Majesty!' It's nothing like fitting anybody else really. It really isn't. And that's the wonderful joy of it."
The lingerie brand owner, 79, says her main objective when she fitting the Queen is to ensure she looks "amazing."
She explained: "The most important thing is to make sure that she looks amazing because we know that whatever she's going to be wearing over it has got to look good."
