Prince George’s pigeon fascination

Prince George prefers pigeons to dinosaurs.
While the two-year-old royal's mother Duchess Catherine took him to the dinosaur gallery at the National History Museum in London last week, she admitted he was less interested in the exhibit than a pigeon he saw outside.
Speaking with 10-year-old Carl Goddard and his mentor Claire Butler from Chance UK in London on Tuesday (27.10.15), the duchess spoke about the visit.
Claire explained to PEOPLE: "She said that George was more interested in a pigeon they found there rather than all the amazing exhibits.
"I was a bit nervous [to meet her] but when I got my first word out it felt normal. I was telling her about what a good mentor should have. She should be empathetic so she can put herself into the child's shoes and think about how they are feeling."
Catherine and George - whose father is Prince William - were spotted mingling among other visitors at the London museum as they checked out the exhibit last week.
Fellow visitor Rimi Rahman said: "She was holding George's hand, showing him around and talking to one of the people who worked there.
"People didn't really notice her at all. They went all around the dinosaur gallery - George looked so cute and little, his hair is so nice. He looked so happy."
A museum spokesperson said: "We were very happy to welcome Natural History Museum Patron HRH the Duchess of Cambridge for a private visit."

Queen Elizabeth’s family trip

Britain's Queen Elizabeth will travel to Malta for a state visit in November.
The 89-year-old royal will be joined by her 94-year-old husband Prince Philip, their son Prince Charles, 66 and his wife Duchess Camilla, 68, for the Commonwealth heads of government meeting.
The three-day trip will begin on November 26.
Elizabeth and Philip lived together in Malta in the early 1950s before she became queen.
They also celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on the island.
During their trip they will visit the Malta Racing Club and the Malta Polo Club, where Philip played polo when he served in Malta as a Royal Navy officer.
Last month Queen Elizabeth thanked the nation for "great kindness" as she marked being the longest-serving monarch.
She admitted she never "aspired" to reach the milestone, but was grateful for the "touching messages" her country and those around the world delivered on one of the most historic day in British history.
While opening the new Borders Line Railway in Scotland Elizabeth briefly addressed the day and said: "Many have also kindly noted another significance attaching to today, although it is not one to which I have ever aspired.
"Inevitably, a long life can pass by many milestones; my own is no exception. But I thank you all, and the many others at home and overseas, for your touching messages of great kindness."

Queen Maxima cuts short China state visit due to illness

Holland's Queen Maxima has cut short a state visit to China due to illness.
The 44-year-old royal was visiting China with her husband, King Willem-Alexander, when she developed a fever and back pain, which has been diagnosed as a kidney infection, the Dutch Royal House announced.
Queen Maxima will be admitted to Bronovo Hospital in The Hague for further testing and treatment when she arrives home.
Her husband Willem-Alexander will stay on in China and complete his itinerary with Chinese officials.
After the news was announced, King Willem-Alexander tweeted: "Many thanks for all the wishes for a speedy recovery. I will pass them on to my wife."
The king and queen were accompanied on the trip by 150-strong Dutch trade mission - the second largest Dutch trade mission ever.
Foreign minister Bert Koenders, who is leading the delegation, has assured critics that human rights will be raised with the Chinese authorities during the visit.
Willem-Alexander became king in 2013 after the abdication of his mother, Queen Beatrix and the couple have three daughters together.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s welly wanging competition

Britain's Princes William and Harry and Duchess Catherine took part in a "welly wanging" contest in London on Monday (26.10.15).
The royals visited the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), during a meeting of the Charities Forum where they took part in the competition, which sees competitors throw a Wellington boot as fast as possible.
William proved victorious in the competition, as he managed to knock the head off a scarecrow, while his wife and brother missed.
The trio were given a 30-minute preview of the latest 'Shaun The Sheep' production made by Aardman Animations, called 'The Farmer's Llamas!'
David Sproxton, co-founder and executive chairman of Aardman Animations, said after the visit: "We know Prince Charles is a huge fan of 'Wallace and Gromit', we've spoken to him about that and Prince Harry said his father also loved 'Chicken Run' - there's a bit of heritage there with Aardman and the Royal Family."
It was a busy day for the royals, who later attended the 'SPECTRE' premiere at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Duchess Catherine and Prince George’s dinosaur date

Duchess Catherine took Prince George to see the dinosaur gallery at the Natural History Museum in South Kensington last week.
The royal and her two-year-old son were spotted mingling among other visitors at the London museum as they checked out the exhibit.
Fellow visitor Rimi Rahman told PEOPLE: "She was holding George's hand, showing him around and talking to one of the people who worked there.
Catherine was casually dressed in black-and-white print capri pants with black ballet flats for her low-key day out with her son.
There was no sign of Prince William or their daughter Charlotte, who was born in May.
The museum is only a short drive from Prince William and Duchess Catherine's home at Kensington Palace.

Prince William’s wedding menu for sale

Prince William and Duchess Catherine's wedding menu is for sale.
The couple - who married on April 29, 2011 - invited 300 of their closest friends and family to dine with them at Buckingham Palace following their wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey and now a menu card from the event is up for auction.
The opening bid is £650 for the menu, which is printed on thick ivory card with a green border.
William and Catherine's three-course wedding menu included South Uist salmon, Lyme Bay crab and wild Hebridean langoustines to start with Saddle of North Highland Mey Select organic lamb, Highgrove spring vegetables, English asparagus, Jersey Royal potatoes and sauce Windsor for the main.
It was followed by a trio of Berkshire honey ice cream, sherry trifle and chocolate parfait for dessert.
Earlier this year Catherine and William, who have children Prince George, two and Princess Charlotte, five months, celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary with a swim in the pool at Buckingham Palace.
The couple drove from their Kensington Palace apartment to the pool at Buckingham Palace to enjoy a short dip, when Catherine was almost a week overdue with the couple's second child.

Queen Elizabeth awards 1m prize

Britain's Queen Elizabeth presented chemical engineer Dr Robert Langer with a £1 million prize at Buckingham Palace on Monday (26.10.15).
The monarch greeted Dr Langer in the throne room at the palace, where he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering for his "revolutionary advances and leadership in engineering at the interface with chemistry and medicine".
The queen was joined by her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, her daughter and son, the Princess Royal and the Duke of York and her granddaughter Princess Eugenie
Dr Langer's work has been the basis for long-lasting treatments for brain cancer, prostate cancer, endometriosis, schizophrenia, diabetes and cardiovascular stents. His research is said to have improved more than two billion lives.
The Queen Elizabeth Prize committee said that "hundreds of millions of people a year across the world benefit from the technologies that rest on the work of Robert Langer".
The Royal Society's recently-appointed professor for public engagement in science, Brian Cox, added: "What I found unique about this is it's something that has demonstrably already changed people's lives, and will change billions more lives in the future. There was a whole new area of research opened up by Bob Langer's work.
"But also what struck me personally was the list, many tens if not hundreds of engineers who supported this nomination, who said I'm in engineering because I was given inspirational teaching by Robert Langer."
