Holland's King Willem-Alexander has praised his wife for attempting to continue her state visit to China after falling ill.
Queen Maxima flew back to Holland and was admitted to hospital on Wednesday (28.10.15) for treatment after suffering through the pain of a kidney infection for a few days.
Willem-Alexander said: "I've talked to her and she's doing well."
He added to the Telegraaf: "I am proud of her, she really tried. We thought it was the flu. But it turned out to be a kidney infection. We're waiting for more test results from the hospital. I hope she's back home soon."
The Netherland Times reported that Maxima arrived at the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague at 7:45 on Wednesday morning.
After the news that Maxima was returning to Holland early was announced, King Willem-Alexander tweeted: "Many thanks for all the wishes for a speedy recovery. I will pass them on to my wife."
The king and queen were accompanied on the trip by 150-strong Dutch trade mission - the second largest Dutch trade mission ever.
Foreign minister Bert Koenders, who is leading the delegation, has assured critics that human rights will be raised with the Chinese authorities during the visit.

Prince George cut from royal play

Prince George has been cut from a new play about the British royals.
'King Charles III' will open on Broadway next month and although the two-year-old prince's parents, Duchess Catherine and Prince William feature, along with his grandfather, Prince Charles, his character has been cut.
Oliver Chris, who plays Prince William, told PEOPLE: "We had a baby. Even up until our first proper dress rehearsal in London, and for the first few previews, we had a baby, and we worked with it all sorts of different ways."
However, as the satirical play is set in the future, following the death of Queen Elizabeth, the character of Prince George was cut.
Lydia Wilson, who stars as Duchess Catherine, added: "I still miss it. But obviously he wouldn't still be a baby a few years in the future."
Lydia previously revealed she loves playing Duchess Catherine in the production as their lives as so different.
She said: "She must be up at the crack of dawn, in a job that leaves very little room for your inner life, whereas my life has been sort of a disproportionate focus on my inner life, because I'm trained as an actor. I'm allowed to express and explore, whereas with Kate I think the biggest thing is the sacrifice of that conversation."

Designer defends Princess Beatrice’s hat

Philip Treacy says a hat worn by Princess Beatrice is one of his favourite designs.
The young royal was ridiculed for the flamboyant headpiece she wore to her cousin Prince William's wedding to Duchess Catherine four years ago but milliner Philip is proud of his creation, despite it being compared to a Turkey Twizzler, a toilet seat and a pretzel.
He told BBC News: "Thousands and thousands of people hated Princess Beatrice's hat. It was an iconic hat in history. It's one of my favourite hats, it's changed perceptions of hats all over the world."
He added: "(Hats are) a cheaper, less painful form of cosmetic surgery. It alters the proportions of the face. Everyone is a hat person; they just have to find the right hat."
Beatrice auctioned the hat for charity in 2011, making a whopping £81,100.01 for Unicef and Children in Crisis.
She said: "I've been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities.
"I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have."

Prince Harry meets with President Obama

Prince Harry met with US President Barack Obama on Wednesday (28.10.15).
The British royal visited the White House in Washington DC to talk about his involvement in the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style event for wounded soldiers, and Obama joked that Harry had gotten to know his wife Michelle Obama quite well after spending the morning touring a military base with her.
Obama said: "It is a great pleasure to welcome His Royal Highness Prince Harry here to the Oval Office. I've had an opportunity to spend a lot of time with so many of his family members, but this is the first time that we had a chance to talk directly. He has gotten to know Michelle very well. For a range of reasons, but in particular, he's here to talk about the Invictus Games, an initiative that is bringing together wounded warriors around the world, under the leadership of Prince Harry and others, to make sure that we see not simply the sacrifices they've made, but also the incredible contributions, strength, and courage they continue to display."
Harry joked he had "stolen" the Invictus Games from the US and made it better before bringing it to Florida from May 8 to 12 2016.
The cheeky royal quipped: "We had huge amounts of fun designing the Invictus Games based around stealing the Warrior Games off yourselves and making it international, making it better, and now we're giving it back to you. So we're really looking forward to the 8th through 12th of May, and hoping to see as many people as possible come down and support all our wounded warriors together."

Prince Edward visits Canada

Britain's Prince Edward is on his 37th visit to Canada.
The youngest son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is on an official trip to the country where he will focus on youth entrepreneurship and fostering a culture of innovation.
Edward, the Earl of Wessex, stopped by Think2Thing, a 3D printing lab before heading to the Digital Media Zone at Ryerson University, where three DMZ-based start-ups presented their business plans him.
He told CTV Toronto: "It's great to see that young people are coming up with these fantastic ideas. It's important for young people to have the resources to turn an idea "into something that becomes commercially viable."
Michal Prywata, chief operating officer at Bionik Labs said: "It's always nice to have someone who's known internationally to come in and recognise that what you're doing is meaningful.
"DMZ, over the last five years or so, has been growing on an international scale. They have offices in different cities now. People are really recognising it as an international hub for tech development start-ups. Things like this just boost that image."
Next week, he will travel to Nova Scotia for several events before visiting his namesake, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

Prince Harry: Afghanistan deployments changed my life

Britain's Prince Harry says his two deployments to Afghanistan changed his life.
The 31-year-old royal was visiting the US on Wednesday (28.10.15) to promote the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style event for wounded soldiers, set to take place in Orlando, Florida in May 2016, when he talked about the positives about being in the Armed Forces.
Harry joined First Lady Michelle Obama at a basketball game played by wounded servicemen and women at Fort Belvoir in Virginia and made a moving speech.
He said: "I joined the Army in 2005. It was a time when service men and women and their families, both in the US and the UK, were making sacrifices for their countries that had not been experienced for generations.
"I am in no doubt that Afghanistan changed the direction of my life. There is very little that can truly prepare you for the reality of war.
The experiences can be stark and long lasting."
Harry also spoke about what inspired him to start campaigning for injured veterans.
He said: "Returning to the UK after my first deployment, I shared the flight home with three critically injured British soldiers, all in induced comas, and the body of a Danish soldier, killed in action.
"It hit me then that this flight was one of many, carrying home men and women whose lives would be changed forever, and some who had made the ultimate sacrifice. From that moment, I knew I had a responsibility to help all veterans."

Prince Harry to meet with President Obama

Britain's Prince Harry will spend time with President Barack Obama in Washington DC today (28.10.15).
The 31-year-old royal is in the US to promote the Invictus Games, an international adaptive sporting event for injured military members, and he is expected to meet with President Obama at the White House.
Announcing the meeting, the White House called it "a sign of the enduring and special relationship that binds our two countries".
Harry will also spend time with the First Lady, Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden as they meet with wounded soldiers in Virginia earlier in the day.
They will visit the USO Warrior and Family Centre, built for service members, military families, and caregivers, specifically those injured in battle.
The Invictus Games will be held in Orlando, Florida, next year - from May 8-12 - at Disney World's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, following on from the first event in 2014 which took place in London.
In a video posted online, Harry said: "Last year we held the first ever Invictus Games here in London. It was an event which focused the recovery of hundreds of wounded service men and women through support, but more significantly it inspired many hundreds more. The amazing British public embraced these games and its competitors as only they can, thanking them and the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice.
"For every competitor last September, there are hundreds of others around the world who would benefit from having the same opportunity. I am absolutely delighted to announce that the United States has taken up that challenge and will host the next Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida, from the 8th to the 12th of May 2016."
The event uses the power of sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation, with more than 400 competitors from up to 14 nations expected to compete across 10 sports at the games including archery, cycling, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field, triathlon, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis.
