Duchess Catherine had ‘wonderful and secure’ childhood

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge had a "wonderful and secure childhood".
Duchess Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage to Prince William - opened up about her early life during a speech at a conference for headteachers in London organised by her children's mental health charity Place2Be.
She said: "I often get asked why I decided to spend time highlighting the mental health of children.
"I imagine my answer might be similar to many of yours.
"I know that I was lucky.
"My parents and teachers provided me with a wonderful and secure childhood where I always knew I was loved, valued and listened to.
"But of course many children are not so lucky."
The 33-year-old royal - who has two-year-old son Prince George and six-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with William - called on the audience to "give all children the space to build their emotional strength and provide a strong foundation for their future."
She continued: "Of course, not all children have the anchor of a strong family.
"Many will arrive through your school gates feeling a real lack of love and devotion in their lives.
"This often leaves them feeling insecure and without confidence and trust in the world around them.
"That is why your work is so important."
The brunette beauty concluded her speech, saying: "Imagine if everyone was able to help just one child who needs to be listened to, needs to be respected, and needs to be loved - we could make such a huge difference for an entire generation."

Perrie Edwards ‘too common’ for Prince Harry?

Perrie Edwards thinks she's "too common" for Britain's Prince Harry.
The Little Mix star has revealed she has a crush on the 30-year-old prince after meeting him at the Royal Variety Performance but doesn't think she's his type.
She said: "I'm too common. My mamma said, 'He'd be embarrassed to take you back to the royal family. You're not for him darling."
However, the 22-year-old singer's bandmates - Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - are desperate to set the pair up following Perrie's split from fiance Zayn Malik earlier this year.
Speaking on 'The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw' on BBC Radio 1, Jesy said: "Harry, if you're listening, Perrie fancies you. She's single, you're single, let's hook this up."
Meanwhile, former One Direction star Zayn has admitted he will "always love" the blonde beauty.
Addressing claims he'd dumped her by text, he told The FADER magazine: "I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message. I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that.
"She knows that, I know that, and the public should know as well. I don't want to explain why or what I did, I just want the public to know I didn't do that."

Prince William sings French national anthem

Britain's Prince William paid tribute to victims of the Paris attacks by singing the French national anthem at the England v France match last night (17.11.15).
The Duke of Cambridge - who is the president of the Football Association (FA) - joined thousands of both French and English fans in singing La Marseillaise at London's Wembley Stadium.
The ground was lit up in the colours of the French flag - red, white and blue - and emblazoned with the motto Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité written in lights across one side.
Prince William, England manager Roy Hodgson and France manager Didier Deschamps each laid a wreath on the pitch ahead of the match.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the 33-year-old royal would be attending the friendly despite one of Friday's (13.11.15) attacks taking place at the French national stadium, the Stade de France.
However, there was heightened security in place with armed police patrolling the stadium and carrying out compulsory bag checks.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: "Tonight's game is a chance to pay tribute to the bravery and resolve of the French people and the French team, who were of course affected directly by Friday's attacks.
"Continuing play on Friday after the first bomb went off saved many lives and foiled the terrorists' plan to take advantage of a panicked response at the Stade de France. Going ahead with tonight's game is a powerful message of Britain's friendship and partnership with France in the face of people who are intent on dividing societies."

In a foreward to the awards programme, she wrote: "It is fantastic that we are all gathered this evening to celebrate fostering and the truly transformational care that is a lifeline to so many.
"The people we will hear about tonight are truly extraordinary and show how good foster care changes children and young people's lives."
The 33-year-old royal - who has two-year-old son Prince George and six-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with husband Prince William - also presented three young people with the Fostering Achievement Award, which celebrates extraordinary achievements by 16 to 24-year-olds who have been in care.
Kevin Williams, chief executive of The Fostering Network, commented before the event: 'The Duchess will be presenting an award to three young people who have shown how far determination, a good attitude, and proper support and stability can get you.
"Sadly not every young person has a positive start in life, but The Fostering Network, foster carers and all those involved in working with fostered young people throughout the UK will continue to strive to make life better for them."
Catherine looked stunning in a £555 cobalt blue crinkle-effect gown by Indian-born designer Saloni at the event.
