Ross Kemp invites Boris Johnson to sleep on the streets

Ross Kemp has invited Boris Johnson to spend a night sleeping on the streets alongside him.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star wants the Prime Minister to experience the plight suffered by the homeless for himself, after he spent time living on Cardiff’s streets for the ITV documentary ‘Living With Homelessness’ in July.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I’d like to do a ‘Living With… with Boris’.
"Whilst this fiasco carries on with Brexit, more and more things are being shoved under the carpet. Sadly, there are no shortage of topics like homelessness and the care that’s not being given to the people who need it."
The 55-year-old documentary-maker also questioned the conduct of politicians.
Ross said: "Politicians need to take a hard look at themselves about what they’re doing at the moment.
"Not only what they’re doing to themselves – very many are being rude to each other in Parliament – but we should be looking and focusing our attention on people who are genuinely suffering right now in this country."
Ross previously questioned the attitudes of politicians towards homelessness, criticising former Housing Minister Heather Wheeler for her approach to the issue.
He said: "I think over the last four years, whether intentional or not, the eyes of most of us have been on the future of this country and while we have been worrying about that the future has been happening.
"I think things have been stuffed under the carpet and I think people in authority have allowed that to happen, and it’s wrong."
And the star said he sees homelessness "virtually every day".
He said: "I walk from Holborn Tube station down to the offices I’m in now virtually every day and you can see it on the streets.
"So reading that there was a two per cent drop rough sleeping didn’t f***ing add up, and it still doesn’t add up because you can’t count them the way Heather Wheeler wants to count them."
