Ronnie O’Sullivan is up for I’m A Celebrity stint

Ronnie O’Sullivan would love to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.

The 44-year-old snooker star – who recently won his sixth World Snooker Championship – is on a high after his latest victory, and he’d be up for a reality show stint after the ITV programme shifted its production from the Australian jungle to a castle in Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He told The Guardian newspaper: "It’s not like ‘Big Brother’ where you’re destroyed.

"The worst that happens is they eat a few bugs and come out saying, ‘I had a great time in there.’ "

With the upcoming series relocated to North Wales, survival expert Bear Grylls has suggested this year’s contestants will struggle with the "brutal" weather while staying at Gwrych Castle.

He warned: "The bad weather in Wales will be brutal. Contestants should not underestimate it. You get persistent wind and rain and that makes people cold fast."

Instead of jetting Down Under, the stars and presenters Ant and Dec will be heading to the castle ruin, near the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

ITV Studios’ director of entertainment Richard Cowles added: "We pulled out all the stops to try and make the series happen in Australia.

"Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and despite us looking at many different contingencies, it became apparent that it just wasn’t possible for us to travel and make the show there.

"However, we are all really excited about a UK version of ‘I’m a Celebrity’. While it will certainly be different producing the show from the UK, the same tone and feel will remain."

The campmates haven’t been confirmed for the upcoming series, but ‘Love Island’ beauty Amy Hart has revealed she would be up for taking part if producers made an offer.

She recently said: "I would love to do it. I love reality TV, I’ve been a big fan of reality TV for years, and I love new experiences and learning new skills."
