Roman Kemp has returned to work on Capital Breakfast radio show after his stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ which saw him brave the jungle.
The 26-year-old presenter has been off work for three weeks whilst camping out in the Australian outback with a host of other stars.
But he made his return to the airwaves on Thursday (12.12.19) where he was reunited with co-presenters Vick Hope and Sonny Jay.
Roman narrowly missed out on being crowned King of the Jungle on the ITV reality show finishing in third spot behind second placed Andrew Whyment and winner Jacqueline Jossa.
And Roman took the opportunity behind his microphone to let his fans know that he didn’t make the walk on the jungle bridge to be greeted by no loved ones as his girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury – who he has been dating since 2018 – was there to embrace him.
He said: "Everyone thought that Soph didn’t meet me on the bridge."
To which Sophie confirmed: "I was there!"
The ITV reality show was running short of time during the episode and cut the footage.
Roman explained: "Yeah they were really tight for time because obviously it was the final one but she was there! And the second I saw … because as I’m walking out the bridge and they take the photos, I saw her shoes and I was like, ‘Oh my god here we go!’ "
After undertaking so many gruelling Bushtucker Trials and sleeping in a hammock for weeks, Roman – whose parents are Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp and former Wham! backing singer Shirlie Kemp – admits it was bliss to get to his hotel and enjoy some luxury before flying back home to the UK.
He said: "My main thing was I kept touching the floor and I was like, ‘It’s carpet, it’s carpet.’ Then I turned on the shower and I was like, ‘It’s hot water,’ and I was looking at Soph and going, ‘It’s hot!’
"I couldn’t believe it. It’s so strange. You become so engrossed in this beautiful world that when you come out you forget this all existed."
