Roman Kemp couldn’t stop touching the floor when he came out of the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ jungle because he forgot carpet "existed".
The radio DJ finished third as the latest series of the ITV reality show came to an end last night (08.12.19), and when he got to his hotel room afterwards he couldn’t get enough of the flooring, and hot showers.
He said: "My main thing was I kept touching the floor and I was like, ‘It’s carpet, it’s carpet.’ Then I turned on the shower and I was like, ‘It’s hot water,’ and I was looking at Soph and going, ‘It’s hot.’
"I couldn’t believe it. It’s so strange. You become so engrossed in this beautiful world that when you come out you forget this all existed."
Roman also admitted he and his fellow campmates instilled a ban on talking about food in the jungle, and vowed to kick anyone out if they started chatting about chocolate biscuits.
He added: "We had a ban after 10 days. We were like, ‘We’re talking too much about food here. Stop. If anyone mentions a chocolate biscuit one more time you’re out.’ "
Roman admitted he was "flattered" to hear that ‘Love Island’ winner Amber Gill had written favourable messages about him online, but he was delighted to be reunited with his girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "I’m flattered, but it was an amazing moment to see my missus when I got out of there."
Last night, Roman admitted taking part in the show was the "best thing of my life".
He said: "That was the best thing of my life. I’ve never had more fun, I’ve never had an experience like that, I couldn’t be more grateful."
Last week, Anne-Sophie said she felt so confident Roman wasn’t going to be booted off ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in the first five eliminations that she didn’t get dressed or put on make-up for them.
She said: "It would be brilliant [if he was crowned King of the Jungle]. I haven’t even got dressed the last couple of days, I haven’t put on make-up.
"Today is the first time I’ve done my hair. I’m so confident I’m not going to see him I haven’t even bothered."
And she wasn’t surprised that Roman has been getting plenty of female attention on social media.
She added: "I’m not surprised. I’ve been with him for two years and there’s a reason for that.
"He has a huge platform now to showcase himself and he is staying true to himself. It’s normal, it’s justified, it’s totally warranted."
