Roger Daltrey confirms new super festival by Coachella promoters

Roger Daltery has confirmed a new super festival featuring his band The Who, Sir Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones among other legends is going ahead.
The 72-year-old singer has let slip the mega music event, which could see his group playing on the same day as ex-Pink Floyd star Roger Waters, is being organised by the promoters of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and he thinks it will be an amazing celebration of all the legendary acts’ careers.
In an interview with UK station BBC 6 Music, he said: "What a great weekend it will be. They’re all going to be there, on the one spot, at the one time. I don’t think any of us cares who goes on first. It’s amazing really. It’s amazing we’re still here!"
According to reports, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones – fronted by Sir Mick Jagger – will open the festival on Friday, October 7, followed by McCartney and Neil Young on the second night (08.10.16) and The Who and Roger Waters will close the weekend on Sunday (09.10.16).
The six Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acts have never shared a bill together before making it the first time they have all appeared together.
Daltrey insists the event will be very important because it could be the last chance for fans to see that era of musicians perform live.
The ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ rocker said: "We have to face it, we are (at) the end of an era. We’re the last of our generation. You can see from reading the obituaries lately that we [rock stars] don’t make old bones very well, do we?
"I just hope a lot of normal fans can get tickets before they get snatched up."
The festival is expected to take place on the Coachella site at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
