Robert Pattinson thought Charlie Hunnam ignored him

Robert Pattinson thought Charlie Hunnam was "ignoring" him when they shot ‘The Lost City of Z’.
The two actors play explorers Henry Costing and Percy Fawcett in the upcoming biopic, and while the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star recently admitted he didn’t think the 30-year-old hunk liked him when they were making the movie, Robert insists he was just taking his lead in remaining distant from his co-star.
Robert said: "I didn’t ignore him. Well, whatever, maybe… I thought he was ignoring me."
"I don’t know. It was just the two of us in the hotel."
Charlie thought it was "exciting" to not really know his co-star outside of filming, though he worried he was taking a "selfish" approach as it might have put his co-star off his work.
But the 36-year-old star concluded Robert was "playing the game" in the same way he was and they continued not trying to build a bond off camera.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "There was something really exciting about the idea of not knowing someone, just letting a relationship exist exclusively on the screen.
"So, I had decided that I wanted to do that, but sometimes that can be alienating, and [can] put another actor off of their work and I don’t want to be that selfish.
"I started playing this game with Rob and he just started playing it right back.
"I think we both really understood what we were doing and there was no real contention or beef between us — we were just playing the game."
But now they’re no longer making the film, Charlie has enjoyed the opportunity to hang out with his "lovely" co-star.
He said: "It’s nice actually to come out of that fog of the production and see that he’s a lovely guy.
"I can actually enjoy having a drink with him now and a hang."
Charlie previously admitted there had been a "real distance" between himself and Robert during filming.
He said: "I had a couple of rehearsal sessions with Sienna [Miller], but I didn’t spend any time with Tom [Holland] or Robert.
"I wanted these relationships to evolve naturally on screen. Through the work, I don’t think I said more than ten words to Robert off camera. I didn’t know if he was just ‘in that zone’ or if he genuinely didn’t like me. There was a real distance between us."
