Robbie Williams came face-to-face with his larger-than-life lookalike Blobbie Williams at the ‘X Factor’ auditions.
The 44-year-old star has joined the TV show as a judge, alongside his wife Ayda Field, One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and head judge Simon Cowell and Robbie was thrilled when his lookalike auditioned for the programme, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Admitting he has cut down on the carbs in order to look good on TV, Robbie said: "It’s like a before and before shot. You’re the reason I haven’t eaten a carb in the last three weeks.
"That should have been way more uncomfortable for me but maybe I’m as narcissistic as people say.
"I love that you make a living impersonating me. I’m a big fan of yours, you’re a beautiful man. Now we need Blobbie Sheeran, Blobbie Drake and maybe Blobbie Gaga!"
Blobbie – whose real name is Tony James – is a member of Take Fat, a tribute act for Robbie’s Take That and calls himself "the Heavyweight King of Pop and Comedy".
However, he was not just at the auditions for comedy value as he wowed the judges with his talent and sailed through to the next round.
Robbie is particularly conscious of his weight after being branded the "fat dancer" while in Take That.
Ayda previously said: "At 15, 16 he was called the fat dancer from Take That. That sucks. He’s been on a diet ever since."
Robbie has also claimed in the past that anti-depressant Effexor – a drug similar to Prozac – had affected his ability to lose weight.
He said: "Those anti-depressants have screwed up my metabolism. It’s slowed right down.
"I run and walk miles on the machine but the weight just won’t come off."
