Rick Astley has insisted his ‘Hollyoaks’ cameo will be a "one-off" foray into acting.
The 52-year-old singer recently confirmed he will appear on the Channel 4 soap after Daisy Wood-Davis’ character Kim Butterfield recently sought solace in a poster of the singing legend after she was left in the school for several months, but he has told fans not to expect him to seek out other roles.
She said: "I’ve got a very small cameo in ‘Hollyoaks’. I can’t tell you any more. It’s a secret.
"Oh, it’s a one-off, yeah. I have got a beautiful life and I’m really, really enjoying the music right now.
"It’s been an amazing couple of years and it feels so comfortable."
While the ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hitmaker insists he will not be making waves on the acting scene, he is a big fan of HBO fantasy programme ‘Westworld’ and was delighted when show bosses used his 1987 hit in a recent episode.
Speaking on ‘Sunday Brunch’, he added: "I love ‘Westworld’. I was really excited when the TV show was coming, and then when the second season was trailered, they had this teaser trailer, and they actually recorded a version of ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.
"I was just freaking. I love the show, so I was just like, ‘Oh my word, this is amazing.’ "
‘Hollyoaks’ confirmed earlier this month that Rick would be gracing the village with his presence.
They tweeted: "O-M-G! The #RouteToRick continues, as Kim’s very own BFF @rickastley is coming to #Hollyoaks today! Ahhhh! So exciting! [sic]"
Rick recently admitted he would love to take Kim camping in an episode.
He said: "I’d say let’s go camping in Devon … in a wigwam. And we’ll barbeque every night and we’ll just talk it through, until you’re free of it."
