Richard Ayoade to host Great British Bake Off?

Richard Ayoade is rumoured to host the ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The 39-year-old actor has reportedly become the frontrunner to host the baking competition when it moves from BBC One to Channel 4 next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Richard is a really popular choice at the minute, as many think he’s got a great character that would bring a great spark to the show.
"He’s got a wonderful off-beat sense of humour, which would really fit the change of channel – and would no doubt be a popular choice with viewers too.
"It’s still early days, but he is definitely up there and now the leading candidate."
The news comes after it was reported the current presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins would not be returning to the show when it moves home, despite having presented all seven series of the programme so far.
Mary Berry – who judges the work produced by the contestants – also announced she would not be following the show to Channel 4 "out of loyalty" to the BBC because they "nurtured" her.
She said in a statement: "My decision to stay with the BBC is out of loyalty to them, as they have nurtured me, and the show, that was a unique and brilliant format from day one.
"What a privilege and honour it has been to be part of seven years of magic in a tent. I am just sad for the audience who may not be ready for change."
Meanwhile, fellow judge Paul Hollywood recently signed a three-year contract with Channel 4, and as of yet is the only announced name to be appearing on next year’s series.
Jay Hunt, Chief Creative Officer of Channel 4, said previously: "Paul really is the star baker – an exceptional talent with a twinkle in his eye. His wit, warmth and wisdom are vital ingredients in ‘…Bake Off’s success. I’m so delighted he’s coming to Channel 4."
The show is due to broadcast on its new home next year with a celebrity special in aid of charity Stand Up To Cancer.
