Red Hot Chili Peppers cancel another gig

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been forced to cancel another gig following Anthony Kiedis’ shock hospitalisation.
The legendary rock band have had no choice but to pull out of their performance for iHeartRadio on May 17 while the lead singer continues to recover in the medical centre.
The group released a statement via their official website on Sunday night (15.05.16), saying: "Due to Anthony Kiedis’ hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th. They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes. Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon. (sic)"
The band axed their KROQ Weenie Roast headlining performance at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, California on Saturday (14.05.16), just hours before they were due to take to the stage, after Anthony was rushed to hospital via ambulance with "extreme stomach pains."
Bassist Flea took to the stage with his bandmates and apologised to fans for having to cancel their slot.
He said at the time: "We are devastated about it. We live to rock, we live to kick deep into the depths of our hearts and rock, but unfortunately there’s a medical thing that happened and we need to deal with it."
Anthony, 53, nearly suffered organ failure due to kidney disease in the past but those close to him rushed to assure fans that he is "healthy" and will make a recovery.
Nancy Mack, the wife of Peppers drummer Chad Smith, tweeted: "Even super healthy guys get sick."
