Rebecca Adlington has been taken to hospital after a fall while filming ‘The Jump’.
The Olympic swimmer was carried away on a stretcher and taken to a local medical facility after injuring herself while performing a ski jump for the reality TV show and her participation is now in doubt.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: "Rebecca’s fall was incredibly nasty. One minute she was flying through the air, the next she was crumpled on the crash mat, and clearly in a lot of pain.
"It was hard to tell at first what had happened, but it was clear she needed to go to hospital.
"Doctors there spent hours assessing her condition, doing X-rays and other checks to work out exactly how bad the damage was."
Rebecca, 26, has since been discharged but it is unclear if she will return to the reality TV show.
A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "The doctors were happy to discharge Becky, and she may still take part in the show tomorrow.
"But it is all down to how she and the medics feel about her condition and if her shoulder is strong enough."
Meanwhile, Tom Parker and Gemma Merna are this year’s standby contestants on ‘The Jump’.
The Wanted singer, 27, and the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star, 31, have been roped into joining the line-up for the forthcoming series as backups in case another celebrity pulls out.
