Queen Elizabeth rides pony for first time since turning 91

Queen Elizabeth has embarked on her first horse ride since turning 91.
The monarch celebrated her 91st birthday on Friday (21.04.17), and has now proved she’s still as fit as ever by braving Monday’s (24.04.17) wet weather conditions for a horse ride around Windsor Great Park.
Queen Elizabeth was spotted donning her waterproofs as she headed out on her beloved Fell pony Carltonlima Emma – which is known to be one of her favourite horses – whilst accompanied by Head Groom Terry Pendry.
The royal is known for her love her horses, and first learned to ride one at the age of four after she was gifted with a Shetland pony named Peggy.
In recent years, the Queen has been forced to cut down the amount of time she spends with her beloved horses, but she still makes an effort to tend to her stables and takes a keen interest in the horses and ponies that reside there.
The news comes after the royal celebrated her 91st birthday last week with a royal salute which sounded in her honour.
The Kensington House Twitter page posted a message for HRH, which read: "Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very Happy 91st Birthday today. #QueensBirthday #HappyBirthdayHerMajesty #Queenat91 (sic)"
Clarence House, the home of Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall shared an old black and white photo of Elizabeth when she was 29 and her son Charles, who would have been just six years old, from 1952 to mark the occasion.
Alongside the picture posted on the micro-blogging site, they wrote: "To mark The Queen’s 91st birthday, we are sharing this photo from 1952 of Her Majesty and The Prince of Wales #HappyBirthdayHerMajesty (sic)"
For her second celebration, Elizabeth will be joined by members of the royal family at the annual Trooping the Colour parade, which starts of at the royal residence and moves to The Mall and Horseguards’ Parade and will be held on June 17.
