Professor Green drinks whisky to calm nerves

Professor Green meditates and drinks whisky to calm his nerves before gigs.

The 30-year-old rapper, who performed inside a soundproof glass cube at MUSIC CUBE, at Westfield shopping centre in London’s Shepherd’s Bush last night (23.10.14), has admitted he consumes alcohol and trains his mind to help him chill out prior to taking to the stage.

When asked how he deals with any nerves he might have before going on stage, he replied: "Meditation. And whisky."

Before last night’s gig, Pro – who will close the MUSIC CUBE event on November 2 at Westfield in Stratford, east London, where he will be joined by singer/songwriter Ava Lily – admitted he would love to collaborate with music outfit Unkle and hinted that might happen quite soon as he keeps bumping into the group’s member James Lavelle.

When asked who his dream collaboration would be, he replied: "I really don’t have a list – it’s never that contrived, I keep bumping into James Lavelle, an Unkle and Professor Green track might be quite cool?"

MNEK and Neon Jungle are also set to perform at the new music initiative, MUSIC CUBE, and MNEK recently admitted he thinks it is important for new platforms to be created to promote live music for up-and-coming talent.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I’m really excited by the MUSIC CUBE concept. I love performing live and it’s great to see that Westfield has created a new way for people to experience and interact with live music.

"MUSIC CUBE is also about supporting up-and-coming independent talent so I’m looking forward to seeing the other new acts over the two weekends."

Free tickets for the event were given out to fans, who listened to Pro perform through supplied headphones.

MUSIC CUBE, amplified by Infiniti and Sennheiser, is set to revolutionise the way consumers experience live music and is exclusive to Westfield London (October 24-26) and Westfield Stratford City (October 31-November 2).
