Britain’s Prince Beatrice is not taking a bigger role in royal life.
The 25-year-old royal – who is the daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson – has undertaken a number of official engagements this week, including reopening the Charles Read Academy school in Lincolnshire and touring the Isle of Wight, but Buckingham Palace officials insist her main priority is still her internship at Sony Pictures Television’s London headquarters, which began in January.
A spokesperson told the Daily Mail newspaper: "She has a full-time job in the business sector, and occasionally carries out engagements in support of the queen and the Duke of York as requested.
Beatrice’s father has previously expressed a desire for the Goldsmiths university graduate and her sister, 23-year-old Princess Eugenie, to take on some of his official duties.
Asked if he wanted the princesses to undertake more official engagements, he said: "If that is the sort of thing they want to do. I could make use of them because they would take some of the burden off me."
During her visit to the Isle of Wight, Beatrice visited the home and final resting place of her namesake, Queen Victoria’s youngest child Princess Beatrice, who died in 1944.
