Princess Anne opens Chris Bryant Centre

Britain’s Princess Anne officially opened the Chris Bryant Centre in Erdington on Wednesday afternoon (18.05.16).
The 65-year-old royal – the daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – whizzed up to Birmingham to declare the new wing of the YMCA buildings ready for business.
Upon her arrival, the princess was greeted by Bishop Derek Webley, Birmingham’s Lord Mayor Ray Hassall, as well as staff and residents from the YMCA and members of the building’s construction team before being given a tour.
The Chris Bryant Centre, which is a cafe and training centre situated on campus that includes accommodation for over 100 people, now has 117 self-contained flats for young people, as well as a nursery and gym.
After viewing the facilities, which is now comprised of The Orchard, The Vineyard and the Chris Bryant Centre, Anne unveiled a commemorative plaque in front of staff.
Meanwhile, the princess may be used to carrying out royal engagements on a regular basis in a professional manner, but she’s not afraid to let her hair down when she’s with her grandchildren Savannah, five, Isla, four, and Mia, two.
A source said recently: "Anne is hands-on as a grandmother, and the older they get, the more she will be.
"Riding lessons, sailing lessons; she’ll instruct the girls in these things and more. She admires courage but is not afraid to discipline the girls with a sharp word."
