Princess Anne and husband Mark Phillips got married on the 25th birthday of her older brother, Prince Charles.
It took place on November 14, 1973, and around 500 million tuned in to watch the couple’s ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.
They then headed to Buckingham Palace for a traditional balcony appearance, before going on honeymoon aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia to the Atlantic and onto the Pacific Oceans.
The couple have 36-year-old daughter Zara Tindall and 40-year-old son Peter Phillips.
