Prince topped the iTunes chart just an hour after his passing was revealed.
The ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ hitmaker was found dead at his Paisley Park estate this morning (21.04.16) and fans wasted no time in remembering him through his music, with three of his albums taking the top three slots on Apple’s download chart in the US.
Less than an hour after the news broke, ‘The Very Best of Prince’ could be found in the number one slot, just ahead of the ‘Purple Rain’ soundtrack, followed by ‘The Hits/ The B-Sides’ in the third spot.
And his music has taken the top five slots on the iTunes US Top 100 songs, with ‘Purple Rain’ at the top, followed by ‘Little Red Corvette’, ‘When Doves Cry’, ‘Kiss’ and ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, while a host of his other songs appear throughout the chart.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Prince began writing his autobiography just a month ago.
The 57-year-old star had announced plans for a tome called ‘The Beautiful Ones’ and insiders have admitted they were surprised he had begun work on the project as it was something he had considered for several years, but never acted upon.
According to TMZ, he had finished around 50 pages before his death.
