Prince died of an accidental drugs overdose at the age of 57 on April 21, 2016.
The ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker passed away after taking the potent, synthetic opioid pain medication, fentanyl overdose, at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota.
He was first prescribed the drug after battling with chronic hip pain, and although his death was ruled accidental, his close pal and Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks recently admitted she believes he may have overdosed on purpose.
The ‘Landslide’ hitmaker also expressed concern about the strength of fentanyl, and believes Prince’s addiction to the prescribed drug "broke his heart" as he often preached about "the downfall of people that do drugs".
