Prince Harry to host King and Queen of Spain during UK state visit

Prince Harry will take part in his first ever UK state visit when he hosts the King and Queen of Spain this month.
The 32-year-old royal has been taking on more royal duties since his grandparents, – Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – announced they would be attending less engagements, and it has now been revealed he will be one of the main points of contact for the Spanish royals during their three-day visit to the UK.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia will make their state visit to the UK from July 12 to July 14, where they will stay in Buckingham Palace as guests of the Queen and Prince Philip.
On July 13, Prince Harry will accompany the royal couple to Westminster Abbey where the king will lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. Prayers will be said by the Dean, followed by a short tour of the Abbey, including the Tomb of Eleanor of Castile.
Felipe and Letizia – who are travelling without their daughters Princess Leonor, 11, and Infanta Sofia, 10 – will arrive in London on July 11, and will receive a formal ceremonial welcome from the Queen, 91, and Prince Philip, 96, at Horse Guards Parade the following morning.
For Harry, the engagement comes just one week after he is due to appear in Leeds on Thursday (06.07.17), where he will appear as a guest at a special event which aims to acknowledge the city’s efforts toward mental health projects.
The flame-haired royal will meet representatives of charities which have received grants from the Leeds Fund, and will then address an audience of senior business leaders when he attends the Leeds Leads: Encouraging Happy Young Minds event hosted by Leeds Community Foundation at Aspire.
Whilst at the event, Prince Harry will also help celebrate the work done by the city’s mental health projects, which have helped a number of local young people.
