Prince Harry ‘stuffed slippers’ down toilet in childhood prank

Prince Harry used to "stuff slippers" down the toilet as a child.
The 32-year-old royal is known for being a little bit mischievous, and it has now been revealed his prankster ways developed as a child when he use slippers to block the toilets during visits to the Althorp Estate, where the family of his late mother Princess Diana – who had Harry and Prince William, 34, with Prince Charles – lived.
Harry’s tricks were uncovered by Sally Fell, who was the head chef at the Spencer family home, as she prepares to auction off items gifted to her by the late Princess, who died following a car crash in 1997.
She revealed in a statement: "When Prince Charles and Diana brought William and Harry to Althorp, Harry was a little mischief – he was stuffing slippers down the loo."
And Sally also spoke highly of Diana, whom she dubbed as "endearing" and "beautiful", and shared fond memories of times when she had visited the kitchen where Sally worked.
She added: "When I first met Diana she was a very pretty, shy, endearing, young girl, but after her engagement to Prince Charles she just grew into a such a glamorous and beautiful woman. She was lovely to all the staff at Althorp and I thought the world of her. She always used to pop into the kitchen for a chat and sit on the table, swinging her legs. I used to cook her a little joint of lamb, which she loved to pick away at."
Princess Diana also gave some personal items to Kensington Palace’s senior housemaid Sheila Tilley – who is also auctioning off the collection – who recalled a time when Prince Charles took the maid’s feather duster and "chased Diana down the corridor".
She said in a statement: "It was a great honour to work for Prince Charles and Princess Diana. I used to clean Prince Charles’ bedroom first thing every morning. One day I left my feather duster on a stick outside his room and the Prince grabbed it – and chased Diana down the corridor.
"Princess Diana was a lovely woman and a wonderful mother. I was there when Prince William was first born and Diana used to sit on the bed in the nursery and chat to me while I played with baby William.
"I was invited to Prince William’s christening with the Queen and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace in 1982 – as one of just 67 guests."
Princess Diana’s personal collection is set to be auctioned at Reeman Dansie’s Royal memorabilia sale in Colchester on June 20.
