Prince Harry returns to royal duties

Britain’s Prince Harry is set to return to his official royal duties today (15.09.15) after his trip to South Africa.

The 31-year-old royal will spend his birthday at the memorial flypast at the Goodwood Aerodrome in West Sussex, South East England, with Second World War veterans and wounded servicemen as they stand together to mark the 75th anniversary of victory in the Battle of Britain.

Over 40 Spitfires, Hurricanes and Blenheims – the most amount of fighter planes seen at once since WW2 – will fly over the several airfields used during the war.

Battle of Britain pilot Tom Neil, now 95, will lead the display from the rear seat of a two-seat Spitfire and will be joined by servicemen and women who have been training to fly the fighter jets as part of the Spitfire Scholarship, which was set up by the Boultbee Flight Academy in partnership with the Royal Foundation’s Endeavour Fund.

Harry, who launched the Royal Foundation’s Endeavour Fund at Goodwood last year, is expected to attend a flight briefing and tour the flight line prior to the display.

He will then meet the aircraft owners, pilots and engineers.

A service will also be held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London to commemorate the 75th anniversary.

Meanwhile, the handsome Prince has just returned to the UK after spending the summer months working on conservation projects in South Africa.
