Prince Harry-backed charity walk set to begin

A charity walk supported by Britain’s Prince Harry is set to start this weekend.

The 30-year-old prince is a notable advocate of the Walking With The Wounded, a 1,000-mile journey that will take 72 days to complete and will see veterans finish at Buckingham Palace on November 1st.

Edward Parker, co-founder and CEO of Walking With The Wounded, said: "Walking over 1,000 miles is no mean feat. Yet again, we will be able to demonstrate that despite injuries these men and women look to their future with great determination and courage.

"We are also very excited about walking amongst the communities who have been so supportive of the military and Walking With The Wounded and we look forward to them coming out to support the team on their journey."

Meanwhile, it was announced earlier this week that Prince Harry is to open a new centre to help some of the most vulnerable children in Africa.

The prince will launch the Mamohato Children’s Centre in Lesotho in December, which will provide a new base for Sentebale, the charity he founded in 2006.
