Prince George honoured in new ‘Fireman Sam’ episode

Prince George has been honoured in new ‘Fireman Sam’ episode.
The four-year-old royal – who is the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – has made it known he is a huge supporter of the children’s programme and helicopters, and to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary they have created a one-off episode featuring a Prince who visits Pontypandy, which is believed to be a nod to the youngster.
In the sketch, which aired on Channel 5’s Milkshake at 7.30am on Friday (17.11.17), the figure visits a fictional area in South Wales, but his royal duties are disrupted and he ends up using his helicopter to save a resident named Tom from falling off the edge of a ravine.
In the episode the Prince was joined by the animated show’s original characters.
Although the episode has already aired once today, and will be screened on Cartoonito at 4.20pm, it is set to be released across the globe next year as part of the eleventh series of ‘Fireman Sam’.
And the creative team cannot wait for fans to watch the "special royal episode", and they are honoured the series has become a "true icon" for children worldwide over the years.
Speaking in a statement about the new production, senior producer, Ian McCue, said: "’Fireman Sam’ has been enjoyed by generations over the past 30 years and is a true icon of children’s television around the world.
"The show and brand continues to go from strength to strength with stories of bravery and action all rooted in the small and caring community of Pontypandy based in Wales.
"We can’t wait for fans to see the special royal episode and the new series which will be out next year."
