Prince George isn’t relishing his start to school life, according to Prince William.
The four-year-old British royal only started attending Thomas’s Battersea in Wandsworth, south London, three weeks ago, and it seems he’s not enjoying his time in the classroom.
Mum-of-two Louise Smith recently shared a conversation with Prince William and of their chat, she told HELLO! magazine: "It was really exciting meeting William.
"He told me he’d just dropped Prince George off at school and he didn’t want to go. Sounds a bit like mine, really."
The Prince’s reported comments come shortly after Jane Moore – who lives close to the school and has friends who send their children there – claimed Prince George won’t be allowed to have a best friend at the esteemed institution.
Jane said he will be discouraged from bonding with just one person and will, instead, be pushed to make friends with everyone in his class.
She explained: "There’s a policy that if your child is having a party, unless every child in the class is invited, you don’t give out the invites in class, which I think is a good thing as you don’t feel excluded.
"There are signs everywhere saying be kind, that’s the ethos of the school. They don’t encourage you to have best friends. It’s a very traditional school in the way that I learned when I went to school, in that robust learning.
"The phonetics of the alphabet and stuff like that, which a lot of school don’t do anymore. He will learn to read and write very quickly.
"It’s a school that really expects parental involvement. The parents are very heavily involved in the school, so they [William and Catherine] will be as well."
