Prince Charles threw garden party to mark 40th anniversary of Prince’s Trust

Britain’s Prince Charles threw a party on Tuesday (17.05.16) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust.
The 67-year-old royal was joined by a host of celebrities – including Fearne Cotton and Pixie Lott – as he marked four decades since he launched the youth organisation with a garden gathering at Buckingham Palace in London.
Dame Joan Collins, 82, presented the heir-to-the-throne with a special gift – a portrait of the prince made up of the images of those the trust has helped – to mark the anniversary.
She said: "It was my privilege to be able to present it. His innovation not only saw the creation of the charity 40 years ago but continues to drive the work it does today."
Sir Ben Kingsley also met with the royal – the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – and praised him on the remarkable work he’s managed to achieve over 40 years.
Ben, who has been a trust ambassador for 20 years, told the Daily Express newspaper: "To meet the people helped by the charity and hear their uninterrupted confidence and self-worth, which is so beautiful, having had their lives shattered by illness or poverty or abuse, is so inspiring. At the centre of it is HRH’s profound affection for what he does and the people for whom he does it. It’s a very rare combination."
Kylie Minogue – who performed at the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations last weekend – was also expected to attend the garden party but pulled out at the last minute due to the flu.
